Which weapon should i buy first?
Haven't played the game that much but i want to save up for a better weapon.

I wan't something that can take out deer from a long distance and can also take down moose from further away than the starter shotgun.
My aim is terrible so preferably it should have a scope or a scope can be added to it.

I would prefer a weapon below 14000 gms in price.

The .300 mag, 30R, and .308 sound like good choices for you, and they're in your price range.

i wrote these to avoid repeating myself for every new play who has exactly this question ;)

we all had these when we started, and there may be some people who would suggest other weapons.
but this should help you to get started and build up your own opinion and playstyle.

I would prefer too a 9.2x63, It has much power, but not for ultra long distances. It is a high weight bullet. It drops compared to other Bullets much more and the windeffect on it is much higher!

He said he wanted to do long distance shots. I took that into consideration on my recommendations.

whats long distance? 150m direct kill + 200 m+ 400m or. 600m+?
Pete Gaimari Nov 18, 2024 @ 1:53pm
I'm sure it's different for everybody.

the answer is in the Original Post ;)

"....I wan't something that can take out deer from a long distance and can also take down moose from further away than the starter shotgun....."

so tmo, anything that is more reliable for deer as the 243 with its 4x scope (~100m) and something that kills a moose from more then 50m.

in my guides i advise the .300 magnum to new players!
it has a wide range of permitted species, and good power for most, depending on the distance.
it can use the 2-10x zoomable scope that also fits the 243, what will make that rifle more usefull (its a good one actualy XD not just a starter gun), and the 5.5-22x what will help newbees with the spotting.

yes it has already been discussed several times that others have other opinions about a starter weapon.

I wasn't here when Classic was released but as I understand it. The .300 mag was one of the first guns that came with Classic.

The 300. Has an extrem Penetration, for going deep into the body and hit more organs, becasue its an real fast bullet. For Longer distances and a really powerfull weapon I surely will use the 304. Wheaterby for Big animals like Mosse and Smaller onces like deer the 9.3 or 7mm.

correct!
later in the players progression i would also advise the 340 weatherby for the "bigger" species.
that does also use the already mentioned scopes and is a good way to start until one builds up his own style and preferences!

It's a shame the devs got the .340 wrong but nothing new there. It should have a bigger animal list. Great gun in Classic otherwise.

The DEV`S hold the realistic rules, like It is not allowed to shoot in real life an deer with a .340. this game isn`t just game in that way, it is authentic! there was once the .357 Revolver allowed for Phaseants in this gam/project like in real life. Anywhen later in the real world wrot there a Player how it realy was that i isn`t allowed again, and the Dev`s corrected it the in the game! It`s a Hunting Simulation.
Pete Gaimari Nov 19, 2024 @ 9:00am
In real life the .340 is used a lot for deer. It uses a smaller bullet when that's done. Want to know the size of that smaller (lighter) bullet? Just look at what's used in Classic. A 200gr bullet. For the animals being shot in Classic we should be using a 250gr bullet.

They are right with the 200. g what they choose, If they would choosen the 250g we didn`t could shoot Red Deer, Wildboars and Feral Hogs! Real exactly that side and you will understand this. 340. minimum allowed animals are Deer like Red deer, it aren`t meant Whit Tails and Muly`s. Stags boars and hogs, and same like those we could only hunt with that caliber if they would chossen the 180g bacasue for bears and that biggness you need 200 up++! The Site is german, use language calculator!
