9.3x62 vs .300 for those hunter who have both
Just have a question or 2 regarding these 2 rifles

1. How does the damage compare at long range? Im assuming the 9.3x62 has more stopping power where as the .300 is easier to aim with

2. The description says the 9.3x62 is less accurate, i assume that is only weapon sway when aiming

3. For doing scopleless longrange comps on say brown bear or reindeer, would they both make the animal bleed to death from a single shot?

The. 300 is more precise and stable than the 9. 3 x 62. The. 300 is single shot rifle, and to reload has to face separate rifle. The rifle 9. 3 x 62 until you do not reach a level 8-10 is more unstable to the point. I have both and I like both. But I have the feeling that at large distances from the. 300 is better and more accurate

Thanks Ronin, one more question, how do the damage compare at distance, reason im asking is for compititions like elk overture, where you have to hit both lungs and heart, with the .300 the distance seems to be about 120-150 where that is possible, higher distances simply dont damage all 3 organs. how would the 9. 3 x 62 compare

What Ronion said. The main differences between both rifles are that the 9.3 has a faster firing frequency, due to its cartridge. It has the better sound (much better sounds, imo, sounds like a cannon :D ); and that it has significant bullet drop at ranges beyond lets say 120m. At 200m, aim 10 cm higher, and youre done. Straying to the side I am not aware of.

I have it at skill level 8. I think beyoind a skill level of 3 or so, the gains in supressing wobble in the scopes are so minor that you hardly could even pewrceive them. Maybe you could hold breath a bit longer, but I never checked that systematically. The Anschütz rifle certainly is a tiny bit more difficult to aim than many other, more stable rifles.

On damage, the views are split. I prefer the 9.3 if wanting to use that little extra punch. To me, the 9.3 delivers the biggest blow. Others say it is the .300. Anyhow, both are heavy hitters.

However, getting closer always helps penetration. But damage and penetration are treated as two different values in the game, as far as I know.

The .300 wa sone of the early rifles that the designed many years ago, and its model reflects that, it lacks the visual attraction of many later rifles released in the past 1-2 years.

But the differences in preciison and damage between both rifles is nothing that should worry you. You are safe if you go by looks and sounds, really. Chjoose the one that by eye and ear you like more. They both get any job done, even more when you aim well. I have 640 hours logged in the game, but am not shy to prefer shooting from a laying stance, still. And then the wobble in the Anschütz scopes is no problem.

The 9.3x62 is really slow compared to the .300. This means it is less accurate (this means the bullet drop is higher, not the swaying) on long ranges (>150m) than the .300, while still having a good woundpower. Woundpower is slightly under slug ammunition for shotguns and above the .300 calibre. However the penetrationpower is under the .300. On short ranges, this doesn´t matter, however on long ranges both precision and penetrationpower work in favor of the .300. But this rarely will make a difference... the .300 will be better if you hit a moose on 180m on the shoulderblade, because it can still penetrate both lungs. The 9.3x62 will maybe only penetrate one lung... still in both cases the animal will be dead. So it´s actually more about your taste in style, the avaible sights and the magazine size and learning to shoot the 9.3x62 on very long ranges.

ty exactly what i wanted to know, the power does matter for some comps where you have to hit both lungs and heart for an entry. Will just grab the 300, there doesnt seem to be any point having the 9.3 other than saving on a scope and doig the 1 brown bear comp by going on your info :)

apreciated
overall the .300 is the better gun but i like the 9.3 just as much. i like the sound it makes.also the camo.

I own both and I prefer the 9.3x62. It take some leveling but it is a much more powerful round at long ranges. Until you hit level 10 with the rifle it sways a lot and your breath doesn't help much but at 500m 1 hit(heat/lung) kill on brown bears and moose can't beat it. The 300 is much better for smaller game at that distance but I find with the bigger animals it doesn't have that same stopping power. So if you hunt deer mostly the 300 is a better choice but for the bigger animals I suggest the 9.3x62.

On the other hand is the 8x57 It is much more stable but flys about the same speed. It use to be my deer gun before I got the 300 but it being bright orange annoyed the ♥♥♥♥ out of me.
