But the answer will always be the same
Yes you have to keep paying over and over... to keep membership
And some more info:
The ingame money you make... Will never be enough to keep buying licenses and weapons.
The game is focussed on making people pay a lot for playing a little time.
let me answer your question:
You can buy 3, 6 or 12 month memberships; there is no lifetime membership (yet).
When your membership expires you keep:
- any items you have bought (either with GM$ or EM$)
- any GM$ or EM$ you have earned or paid for
Once your membership expires you can still shoot the two free species any time you like forever
Also, you can use any left over GM$ to buy temp licenses if you feel like hunting the other species just for a few days, but eventually unless you complete more missions to earn more GM$, this will run out.
For what it's worth, I have about 43,000 GM$ which I have earnt by completeing game missions; when my membership expires I can use this to buy temp licenses and ammo, so I will be hunting long after my membership expires.
Costs: it has cost me 30p (GBP) per hour played. That's ok for me, as I have have bought a lot of gear and like the game. At the other end of the spectrum, a basic membership costs as little as 7p (GBP) per day.
I hope that answers your question.
LOL no it won't be worth it but a lot of new guys have the same problem about spotting something and getting a shot in; you get better with practise I promise you. I started with the f2p version and at first I found it very hard until I picked up a few skills off the wiki.
I see you've started playing the game. Here's a few things that I think could help you before you even think about spending any real money.
- make sure you spawn on the Logger's Point reserve: this is the only reserve that has Mule deer on it.
- have a look at the spawn map here: http://www.thehunterwiki.com/index.php?title=Logger%27s_Point you will be most sure to find Mule deer where the map says
- make use of the towers and your deer bleat to call deer to you; your lack of camo isn't too bad if you're up in a tower
- walk slowly or at a crouch; if you hear a deer call, stop, use your deer bleat, and keep still until it gets close enough to see. Stealth is very important in this game.
If you have no luck, let me know, we can try a multiplayer game and make sure you're doing it right. Good luck!
If you don't like the game or find it unrewarding - you have spent zero $.
But just on top of what I said above, Logger's Point has plenty of Mule deer, I only wanted to try and help you find them.
Be lucky!
when you launch the game and press Hunt Now > Single Player Game, on the left hand side of the screen you will see icons of all the reserves. Logger's point is the second one from the top; it is the only map with Mule deer on.
I would start at the Border Lodge in the north at 0500; click on the building icon on the map or the name on the left of the map to select.
PS - roast chicken and potatoes for dinner; anyone wants some? Just bring a bottle of wine to share ;-)
