Best clothing?
I was thinking of getting one of the clothing bundles, any thoughts on which is the most OP? :3

Boone & Crockett's the best all-rounder.

I got the 50 buck package so I already got that set with it D:
What else should I get? \o.0/

hm, I like hunting in forest area like the redfeather falls, so i got the forest 3D bundle, it's mad epic. the 3D bundles are for different regions, check them out. :D

If you like hunting only deer, doc monsignor or army clothing, both kinda fancy in their own way :p

-but best bundles are the 3D camo bundles, but they have the downside of hunting in different regions. you need to get 3 or 4 I think to hunt madly epic in all reserves.

i use the army set for hunting deer and the 3d camo for other places wen im not hunting deer.

Doc and army seem to both be the same as B&C but with less of the same stats, so pointless.

I'm not sure if the 3D camo is really better than B&C, although they have an excellent visual stat, they have nothing for sound or smell.. Although B&C only work for deer, just about every region has some kind of deer in it I guess -_-

There is no all-in-one "Best" clothing option in TheHunter as different animals have different senses, so it's more like "best for the situation" though having the B&C is definitely better than nothing.

If you're hunting anything deer related (I believe it's all species of deer, elk and moose) then the B&C suit is the way to go (or the others with similar effects). If you're hunting anything else like boars, bears and such they you'll probably want one of the regional camo suits for the visual camo and scent eliminator spray to help with your scent.

But those other camo suits aren't required by any means, they will obviously help a lot versus the non-deer species out there but you can still be successful without them if you're careful and clever.

I usually hunt in B&C boots, trousers & gloves. I wear the shamrock flat-cap and a t-shirt purely because I want to - the t-shirt gives zero camo/scent/noise buffs. If I was going pro then I'd wear a full suit of either B&C or Monsignor.
DrNoesis Jun 14, 2014 @ 6:08pm
I tend to go with Monsignor when I don't want to use a more specific Sneaky 3D set.

There's a guide on the wiki that gives a good basic run down of the various sets, including some graphs with comparisons of the various bonus's, in case that helps:

Other than that its kind of a personal preference/playstyle thing really... do you need more sound reduction than visual... can you afford scent eliminators or do you want clothes that'll help with that, etc etc
AceAngel (Jaden) Jun 15, 2014 @ 2:21am
That chart is cool, seems all the deer-clothing has 8 total stat points, just over different stats, so the choice doesnt really matter, and the 3D stuff still doesn't seem worth having.

I think the Trappers Outfit is the best. We've had really good luck getting close to the more skittish prey while wearing it. Doc Monsignor and Sneaky 3D seem like they'd be a good 2nd & 3rd choice though.

Sorry to be late on this

I spent most of my games in the army gear as I was going after deer, and it served me pretty well. I still wear it a lot.

I have got 3D gear for some reserves where I felt I deserved it and the ghillie suit for fun.

But - look at the prices for a new set of gear then look at the cost of tree stands and blinds etc; with any species that responds to calling, you may want to consider the value of a device instead of clothing, as (with certain limitattions) can work well on more reserves than specific clothing I think? I love my tree stand for instance.

I'm also curious re the effect of mixing items; I got Doc Monsignor boots to quiet my feet down when stalking, but seems odd to have their camo value affecting my visibility when they can't usually be seen by my prey.

Does anyone have any info on what % things like gloves hats and boots have compared to the important items - coat and trousers/pants? It would seem silly for them to all be 20%
AceAngel (Jaden) Aug 29, 2014 @ 2:36am
Looks like 20% per item part. From the dev-

"Each piece provides some camo, of course to get the full effect you need the whole outfit. This also means that it is possible to combine different types of camo although you only get about a 1/5th of the full outfit effect for each piece."
Alf Tupper Aug 29, 2014 @ 3:00am
Yeah that's what worried me Jaden; I had read that too, and wanted clarification.

is it "about" 20%; I think it's silly to lose 20% of your camo for your boots if you're stood in a hide or tower etc, and as long as you wear a hat that helps shade your face (or grow a beard!) and have something that stops your white hands standing out too much, does it matter that your hat and gloves and boots are Forest camo when you're in a field on the same reserve? - well not to the value of 20% each!

Any one else with any insider knowledge?
Geredis Aug 29, 2014 @ 6:52am
I personally use B&C Hat, Shoes, Gloves, with the reserve-specific pants and coat whenever possible, though sometimes if I know I'm going exclusively for deer and deer-like species, I sometimes stick entirely with B&C.

Speaking of clothes, does anyone know if clothing ratings are weighted in any way or if it is all equal when it comes to ratings? And by that I mean, is a hat equal to a coat, or boots equal to glovse, or is it basically a 33/33/11/11/11 split between the five pieces you can wear, with gloves, boots, and hats equalling one jacket or pants?
