Whiterime Ridge The Good The Bad The Ugly
After a lot of hours playing on this map the Following IMO needs work.
First the good outstanding representation of winter time mountain hunting.

The Buff
Buff are dumb as a hammer but that is how they are ((right on)).
Beautiful representation of the animal and it's behavior , except for bottom of feet lol.
Very fun to hunt.

Sitka deer
Some how graphically seem to small.
When seeing one they look to be out there about 180m however in fact they are only about 80m and look about the size of a rabbit.
This has cause a lot of spooked Sitka deer with myself as being very small a hard to see because of size one tends to walk into them and only see them when running.
However very fun to hunt.

Arctic Fox
Fine no problem with them.

Now for the Ugly
The over whelming sun glare on the snow washes all chance of seeing red track markers.
This is a real problem on this map when sun comes out that makes tracking a frustration that can not be express hard enough.

Arctic Rabbit
This really needs work rabbit is next to impossible to see unless running.
One can track them down to the point of notification comes up right side of monitor and still 80% of the time can not see them.
Very much to wild.
The range rabbit runs when spooked needs to be half of what is in game now to even make this somewhat fun.
As is now I do not even hunt them
The snow banks around trees have no collision and rabbits can be sitting under these banks and hunter has no chance of seeing them.
Snow banks on map needs to have collision mapping that hunter and animals just do not walk through them.
This also leaves hunter no place to go prone on banks frustration is high because of this.

The bear is yet to be released I will leave this one alone for now.

Update a new item has been added that helps a lot with the snow glare
And is in the store as of today SNOW GOGGLES
Tricky EW and a brilliant sales tactic

The goggles are only cosmetic. They do nothing for you.
DanthemanBoone Feb 24, 2016 @ 1:49pm
AB is so ugly that nothing cosmetic can do anything for him.
LOL.

Good post Mel.

Ever since WR came out, I've hunted mostly early morning, and even now when the sun's out, I've not lost tracks with sun glare. I use blue/turquoise for my markers and that still seems to work 99% for me. I'm not buying goggles, especially if they don't seem to work for leongt, and wondering how they seem to hav worked for AbSlayer if they are purely cosmetic?

Buffalo feet - yes that annoys me too

Sitka - a bit like Roe, they are small, but they come to the call like all other deer, and not had issues with misjudging distance or wandering into them.

Hares - yes they have Predator like camo, but that's more realistic for me anyway; we have a bird in Scotland claled the Ptarmigan or snow grouse, and they can be 20 yards away and you don't see them unless they call or move.

Just bought a pair, I'll let ya know how they work out for me. Kinda have my doubts though as it's lust a slab of bone with two slits for your eyes. :steamhappy:

Snow goggles are the same as all other eyewear - they fail to alter vision in any way. Just tried them on WRR, on or off they make no difference. Tracking domes were just as hard to see as normal in the middle of the day.

Being the 10th reserve created, WRR is meant to be difficult. It's a harsh environment, therefore it should be a challenge. The only disagreement I have with AbSlayer's complaints of WRR is those are the things that make it unique and fun.

Sure the Snowshoe Hare are hard to detect and easy to spook but it feels so satisfying when you pop one. Especially at long range with the .22 pistol.

Tried them out last night. They look cool but don't do squat. I use cyan blue for color and start my hunt at 6 AM, don't usually hunt past noon so there was no difference with or without the goggles.

Lol I must be losing it then or just s:steamfacepalm:eeing things
