They are a little different in performance as noted in the store description.
(* Please note that this arrow does not perform exactly as the regular arrows and that power, trajectories and zeroing varies from bow to bow. Make sure to practice at the Archery Addictions Range before heading out to hunt!)
They can be used as normal arrows in the bows they are designed for but you need to try different bows to see which will give the best result.
I very much doubt they have a real life counterpart.
From my experiences & many years of playing, I've noticed that they shoot way more straigth than regular arrows. Not much drop is what I mean.
And yes, they were introduced many years ago for a Valentine Event & then, stayed available.
