why is the pellet gun not ethical for canadian geese?
doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. i can kill geese extremely easily with it. in real life ive seen people hunt geese with a pellet gun with ease

Because it's a game and not real life, and it's not that it's not ethical.. It's not PERMITTED. big difference.

Maybe you can try to shoot one if you think it's ok and see how it goes. That thing can hardly kill a rabbit unless it's a head shot and Canadian Geese are big. Getting head shot would be difficult. Even from blind, since you need to shoot from standing position.

Not sure about .22 air rifle. It is effective with a well placed shot from close range but also can be VERY under-powered. .223 should be allowed for all species of geese. Here is why, it's allowed for birds (Grouse and Turkey) it's also allowed for Arctic Fox and Roe Deer both smaller and larger than many geese. Would allow for a 2nd Rifle we are able to hunt geese with. Thoughts?

No, there are already 2 rifles to hunt geese with.

i became very fond of the .17hmr since i aquired it as a dailys reward :lunar2019grinningpig:

its relative quiet, has two very cheap ammunition types, for small game like pheasants and rabbits, and another for goose/turkey sized birds and small predators like fox and such.

to OP....
its a game, something many people often forget (in ALL games^^). this one has the "ethical ammo" thing that other games may not share (CotW), doesnt mean its like real life ^^

like all games, we have to adapt to what we have, the design choices are not made by the players. asking why is a little too late, this game is over 10years old^^

befor you buy a weapon in this game, look at the permitted list and decide if you even want to use that

sidenote... those canada goose are often gone befor you get close enough for such a gun. if you have a setup for goose then it may be of use, but i guess a shotgun is prefered then.

thats really what made me make this post because i was effectively killing entire flocks of geese with the pellet gun from my blind. id call them in let them land then just pick them off one by one. one shot one kill every time. in my opinion a high powered pcp .22 airgun is more then enough to ethically kill geese IRL even with body shots
