Animals not spawning FIX...? (worked for me!)

Hello!

I have been playing this game for a while and I even stream it some times. I really like it, hehe.
But, as many players I wanted to get some gm$, so checking in the forums I read the easiest way to do this is by completing missions.
I checked my setting and missions were like disabled? So I clicked the 'Activate all' button, so I could get all possible mission rewards.
But, after I started the game I found that there were no grunts, howls, tracks or any trace from animals!
I played four about 40 mins and never found any!
I tried a different map and the same happened...
Then I re-started the game but still no animals were to be found.
So, I undid the only change I had made so far, yep, disabled the missions and now... there were animals in the maps!
Sadly discovering this took me about 1.5 hours but I hope this can help someone who has this issue.
But maybe I have to enable missions one bye one to get the rewards .

the spawns of the animals are completly random.

they have "areas" where they appear in different numbers (ammount), score and genders.
from there they roam in different directions and will eventualy even spook eachother so they spread even more over the maps.
you can only see so far, go to certain areas where its more likely (but never guaranteed).

the only save way to ensure you get something to shoot, are trapps (TMO XD). means baiting sites, decoys and blinds or tree stands. those cost alot to setup and are no good solution as beginner.

you had simply bad luck, nothing more, happens to me and others too, once in a while ;) 40min to 1.5 hours is not realy so long either, depending what you are looking for ^^
and we have no idea how carefull you move. you may spook the animals around you, and simply notice it now, because you are looking for them ;)

sometimes i have easy dailys, like register an audio clue, and im roaming that reserve 2hours until i get that done. a hard mission although, can be done in a few minutes - if im lucky XD

the missions work fine, and there is no knowledge of any script checking your progress and eleminating those you are looking for.
would be silly as developer and a reason for many to quit if that was true and force even worst reactions/reviews about pay to win.

reenable the missions - all missions and the automaticly activate following mission. at first you have to complete the first 3 whitetail missions to activate all others (some are already on, but not all packs).
my last reset took me less then 2 weeks to get close to 200 completed again ;) only playing an hour or 2, rarely longer per day.

dont run or even walk, chrouchwalk! yes it takes more time to get somewhere, but its worth it.
learn about the behaviour of the different species and where they could be (not always though XD).
stand still once in a while and peek (binos or longer range scope) into the shadows and between the trees. look for movement, not shape or color.
use scent reducer, if you still have some from the free dlc, and try to hunt from north to south (general wind direction).
take your time and level up tracking to see the domes further away.
dont give up to soon, the reserves are big enough that you will need some luck, but mostly patience ;) this is not an action shooter XD
in time your will establish your own style based on your experience, but that is what you need to archive yourself, patience and experience.

All animal spawns are 100% random each time you start a hunt. I've gone 3 hunts in a row and never saw a single Elk, next one..shot over 30 between me and my friend. In terms of missions, the only time a mission will ever have an effect on a spawn is if the mission that is active asks you to kill a very specific animal that can only spawn in a very specific location. But that only changes that one animal..the rest of them are totally random. As you play more, you'll start to learn how the animals act, where they tend to hang out more often, how the react to noise and other animals, just takes a lot of time to learn and moving fast is a big no-no in this game. Animals will hear you from a mile away and you'll never see em.

Yes, I know spawns are random and also I know that it doesn't make any sense, but for me this worked!
After disabling missions I got animals (not only one kind) in every map I played, with all mission enabled I got not a single animal of any kind, except for some rat thing which was not huntable.

Sadly, yesterday when I finally managed to 'make' animals to spawn by disabling the missions, I got howls, grunts, tracks, etc. (from several kind of animals), but when I found the deer ... all were females! So, no points or gm$ at all
Yep, I have bad luck some days, hehe. But 'all missions - animals spawn' relation works like that for me.
Maybe there is just one glitched mission and by choosing "all of them" it activates a glitched one?
My friend who plays coop with me says he has all missions enabled with no issues ... I'm going to keep trying to get gm$ with missions.
By the way, every single time after hunting, my hunting status displays I did nothing (no shots or anything) but scrolling down I can see the animals I shot ... strange.

I read about other players who have had no animals spawning issues, sadly with them I do not know if they are new to the game (more newbie than I am )
Some players tell them to just restart the game or such, I posted this because for me it worked as a solution, (it does work! even makes no sense! lol ) so maybe those players or others with the same issue can get at least something to track and have fun.

the launcher does not update propper after a hunt, at least those points you mentioned never show anything XD
other things will be updated later. like weapon and tracking skill progression, hunter score and others.

its an old game, and certainly not issue free (what game is?)

but there is realy nothing weird about your experience with the spawns ;) we all have times where we like to think like you did ;)

Yes, that's why I am not complaining, as you said, I think that is the solution so I posted here.


About issues with games... for some reason I always find glitches!!
I never look for them or such, but I always find weird glitches!

It is worse when it happens during streams, lol.
Specially if it is my first time playing!! I wouldn't have known it is a glitch until watchers ask me 'how did you did this' or 'how did you get there', super fun, but can be annoying sometimes! XD

And of course I'm going to keep trying with missions to get gm$, I want to buy some things in the game.

Yes, maybe you are right.
Yesterday I tried activating all missions and finally found animals
It took a while to find them, but they were there.
So, could be a coincidence, hehe
