I read recently that from January 2024 support for Windows 7 & 8.1 will stop so they need to upgrade, or release a patch for, the game to keep it stable, and playable, especially on 64Bit systems.
i would also like a remake of this title with its current mechanics on a 64bit engine that can make use of our newer hardware.
even older pc's can already display more render distance for example.
could also be a chance to get rid of most floating rocks, root traps, any smaller stone you cant walk over (like alot on TGT mountain area) and bigger rocks you cant climb although it should be possible.
although the textures may be older, i would not like too much changes there.
every game i played that advertises things like 3d grass is actualy a performance hungry buggy thing.
its no improvement other then showing off that we can display such 3d models, but that costs performance and distracts from the actual game play - what is often not very good compared to other similar titles (not only hunting games).
what i would realy like to see in a game that focuses on the sneaky aspect, like this one, is a mechanic that the game Escape from Tarkov has.
you can adjust your walking or crouching speed, aswell as your crouch hight with the mouse weel, to avoid loud noise. its extremly usefull when you walk through a bush or higher ground scrub and slowing down is more quiet.
as for the technical aspect of what @Bargearse reports... i realy dont know how to solve this...^^
in quite a few games that i play, people report bugs, crashes, lags and delays that i never or barly encounter.
i dont have the newest pc, didnt realy do much optimizing for gaming this time, and run this hardware +12hours a day (its also my tv XD).... but people who spend a months income for a graphic card alone have unplayable games (if they are not exaggerating about every little inconvenience)
classic runs perfect for me on an i5 4670 16gb ram with an gtx 1060 6gb on ssd with win10 os.
no problems at all, once every few years the servers disconnect me (lag, package loss??) but nothing serious or anything making this game unplayable.
was already fine with my phenom x4 and a radeon rx550 that i used befor with win7.
so.. its not alone the game, people have to make sure they get the settings right and dont have too much stupid "apps" and background programms running.
have a nice day all, good hunting and dont forget to have fun ;) its a game
Never mind that hunting games are low on the ESG score that make obtaining billion dollar investors in such a game difficult in the current year, and your dream project looks unlikely.
Having seen all the remasters and remakes churned out by various game developers over the past couple of years I am extremely sceptical that any attempt at a remade version of this game would be better than what we have now. I'll enjoy it as it is, warts and all, until it becomes no longer viable from either a technical or economic perspective. From my rocking chair viewpoint gaming looks to have peaked some time ago. Yes, graphics can be made ever more realistic, but for anything more than tech demos they are unlikely to be practical, especially in a niche product. The modern movie going public is overly critical of the quality of the CGI in modern blockbuster movies, and Hollywood has budgets to play with and paying audience sizes that we can only dream about. Me, I'm happy playing old school stuff until I pop my clogs. Remakes be damned.
This is a sim I buy my system for. The weak need not apply. This is all in game footage. No real footage. Pilots are human. The rest are AI.

and if the endresult on your home hardware will be like what was advertised.
any UE5 game with 4k textures will certainly need more then an average pc.
and the things @Vibes showed require a complete new game, on a different game engine.
that will, as @******* has correct analysed, be a total downgrade from what we have now - see CotW... pretty but lame :/
alot of other examples in the past have proven, that people tend to buy any crap and then complain.
quality has decreased, but the prices have risen.
pretty graphics have increased the hardware requirements, but the games have no depht anymore, shallow and empty,
if a game offers something to do, its a grind - see the discussion about how to earn enough for gear in this game.
if you can buy it, its pay to win - same discussion.
if you cant get 200fps on a high end pc, its the games fault never the countless open windows they are running simultanious.
but all want 4k textures and a high fps, and that on a laptop from a sale 5 years ago.
an upgrade of classic would be nice, but not likley.
however - we can, as the OP wants, request a remake ;) a few ideas would be possible to realize, without having a nasa computer with an own powerstation!
I know who to ask. (A friend in CS)
