BOW/CROSSBOW HUNTING

I've started playing this game, and I've only used guns like the stock rifle or the KAR98, but I'm interested in hunting with a bow or a crossbow... So my question is, what is the best bow out there, is it the Parker Python or perhaps the Snakebite, and also, is it better to hunt with a crossbow instead?? Tnx

its personal opinion mainly.

i have all bows and my fav is the snakebite.overall probably the best all round bow in the game.thing is next guy will probably say different.

natural bows are harder to use.cable bow is probably the worst of all the bows.

crossbows are very powerful but..they slow to reload but you can prone with them.

My fave of the compound bows will probably end up being the Pulsar, but my Tenpoint crossbow is the one that's done the most killing as I can prone, and also get stability when shooting from towers tripods etc.

There are pros and cons to each bow - all I would suggest is get one as they do change your hunting quite a lot... so:

- the reverse draw crossbow has a rather dubuious set of iron sights and optical sight; the Tenpoint is better IMHO

- the trad/natural bows take a lot of luck and/or skill compared to a compound bow

Thank you guys for the support and answers and tips, just bought the TENPOINT, and all I can say for now is it's REALLY GOOD, I killed about 20 animals Whitetails and all shots were dead on after a bit of practice on the range, I was really surprised how it dropped animals from the first shot :D

I've got over 500 harvests with the Parker Python, Pulsar and Tenpoint Crossbow, with the Reverse draw crossbow I have over 300.
If you are gonna buy a crossbow get the tenpoint, the scope is miles better than the very poor scope on the reverse draw. Both have excellent killing power.
As far as bows goes it really depends how you're hunting.
If you're in a tree stand the pulsar is the best because it is so quiet and spooks surrounding animals less, the Parker Python is the next quietest with the Snakebite being the loudest (of the compound bows).
The snakebite is the most powerful, followed by the Pulsar and then the Parker Python but they are all powerful enough to take down any animal in the game. Likewise the crossbows.
The easiest to use is the Parker Python because if you buy the scope, it has a built in range finder that automatically highlights the correct aiming pin!
The Pulsar is the most stable.

If you buy a 12 month membership you'll get a snakebite included.

If I were you I would buy the 12 month membership, then

1. The Tenpoint Crossbow
2. Pulsar or Parker python and sights.
3. Same as above
4. Reverse Draw crossbow.

I bought the reverse draw first then when I got the tenpoint I used nothing else until I had 500 harvests, it really is that good and is, by far and away, my favourite weapon in the game :)

HaddockA, love your summing up of the crossbows mate, I agree 100% with you, the Tenpoint is miles better because of the poor sights on the reverse draw.
Also reloading times don't matter as you're always looking to down an animal in one shot, same as with a bow.
Finally, I would suggest you try the Pulsar, it's an extremely efficient killing machine and you won't believe how quiet it is, it's almost silent :)
