Best clothing/camo for all Deer Species
I'm thinking of whether to buy B&C bundle or Doc Monsignor bundle. They both have good stats against deers but the only difference between those two is the visual and sound reduction. B&C has a great visual reduction, sacrificing sound reduction. Doc Monsignor has a better sound reduction than the former but a lower visual reduction. Is visual reduction more important than sound reduction? or the opposite? (when hunting deer species).

From what I know, deer don't have exceptional eyesight. I prefer the B&C camouflage series over basically everything else. As long as you move correctly, sound shouldn't be a problem (especially in the case of crouching or going prone when close to the animal, as you should usually be doing). But you will benefit from the added camouflage significantly; deer can walk right past you if you're still, especially when crouching. If you go prone, they will basically only run if they smell you or if they step on you.

Then again, it's your decision. I like the B&C camouflage for practicality, and the Doc Monsignor clothes just because they're classy.

Have you considered the English hunting outfit? I have been quite happy with that one.

I think it has the same reductions as the Doc Monsignor. But yeah, I can consider that one.

i also use the english for deer/elk, but more for rabbits.

i started using different clothing since a while, but although they have some benefits, there is no best.

i belive there is some effect in certain situations, but even a full set will not make you invisible or alow you to run over the map ;)

so - sound and scent reducing is fine if you have to get close at first, but visual (sneaky3d) is needed then when they could see you. movement is far more important, they "see" you when you move/turn.

downside is, youll need different sets for the areas on one map, makes it impossible to have the best for all things. (like summer fields and summer forrests)

its a game and does not realy reflect how animals eyes work, but good enough for a game.

i still buy clothing, but more for a roleplay, or because i can XD

it wont help a bad hunter to get better ;) only the better hunters to save some time.

I have several sets of camo but like the numerous rifles I have ,most of them i could do without. Twice after hunting in the polar outfit I have forgotten to change my clothes.

First timeI forgot I took a 230 plus moose on Redfeather with the 10 pt at less than thirty yards. Then discovered I was still in snow camo when I set up the trophy shot. LOL.
Just this season I did a hunt on Bushrangers run and did the same thing, forgot to change the polar suit. Made no observable difference.

I generally use B&C or the polar camo, and when I hunt Piccabeen I only swap out the B&C jacket and hat for the tropical hat and jacket. Otherwise I mostly use the B&C.

Since my hunting lore is simple, If I can see it, I can kill it, I dont often have to get that close that camo is ever going to be an issue.

I dunno - before Hunter went to F2P model, I was hunting for 2-3 years using just basic weapons and clothing. After the game moved to F2P, I bought a camo suit for reason of "just because I can"... and found out that I can run to doe herds without spooking them until I'm right on top of them. And if I lie down, I can call bucks and they won't spook until they are right on top of me. Never had any situation like that during my "non-camo" years.

Edit: for posterity, I'm using "army" (?) camo which is effective on all deer senses. I have no experience with visual-only camos.

I wanted some outfit that somehow works in every environment. Well got myself outback outfit and later learned it kind of performs poorly in every environment. Still with army gloves, army face mask and some back backs, I feel it's working fine against deer species. Wind direction and sudden movements at close range are the things that usually scare them away. I haven't tried any other outfits tho. I have that fox outfit for arctics, but I feel I need to be more careful there even it's supposed to be better outfit.

If you have some em$ left from the events, the Doc and English outfit are both on sale.

B&C and Army give the most protection for the deer family.

I like the Trapper outfit best though. It gives the best scent protection. What can be better than wearing the deer hide to fool a deer/elk?
