2.depends on what your willing to spend for calls and blinds
3.neither first few flocks are easy after that it gets hard
4.both the least ive made on either was like 10gms the most almost 75gms
This.
I would advise you, as well, to use at least 6 decoys. And if you do so, you'' need a shotgun with more than 1 shot (best would be, imho, lever action with 6 rounds or possibly pumpgun with 5 (?) shots), if you hunt alone, otherwise it will be hard to get most of the coming down geese, which would make your hunt moneywise, less effective...
I hunt with 18 decoys (and if I own another 1000gms there will be 24 decoys there) and most flocks which are flying near my place at least send 2-8 geese down to me. Sometimes flocks can be spare and you have to wait 3-4 minutes between flocks. When you have no decoys, I guess, the chances will be high to only get every 2nd to 3rd flock down (with possibly only one or maybe two geese). So you may have to wait 15 minutes, possibly, sometimes, for one or two geese (one canadian goose gives you around 10-30gm). Do the math yourself...
And make sure, that you have a LONGrange caller, because they will not break the flock when you use the SHORTrange caller, only.
Later on, when you got full amount of decoys, think about buying 22. pistol with high zoom scope, which will help you get those one or two geese, which eventually manage to get out of range of your shotgun, before are finished shooting the other ones. Goose hunting may be the way most effective way to make money, but you need a ton of equipment to do it effective...
4 - magpies give 40% more gm$ on average
To begin with: I never tried to call down birds without any decoys. But if you have decoys (I started with 6 decoys, IIRC), the birds are landing near them, even when you do not use the short range caller. The short range caller does only seem to lure them to land MORE NEAR to your position. Or sometimes makes them fly directly towards you (which may be necessary for bowhunting them).
I am not 100% sure about that, so it would be good, if someone could confirm.
