The whole area west and south of Rittersteinhutte holds good numbers of Red Deer (southeastern part too). For many spawn mashers tower 1 is the go-to place. For me a heavy red deer is usually an indication of a high scoring animal - not always. I hate sitting in towers / blinds / stands the whole day so I'll walk a pre-determined path to cover as much of that area as I can (this includes a couple of minutes in stands and towers that I have in that area), then if I find decent tracks I will just track the animal down (B&C clothing brings them right up to you and then nail them with a bow like the snakebite or recurve as not to spook others in the vicinity). Some people don't believe in blind calling but I blind call for a few animals in the game. Red deer is one of them. Just blow the horn every now and then and see if you get a reply. Be alert for animals that turn back on their tracks.

That's about all the I can share. Work out your own strategy and learn from your mistakes.

Good luck!

220 is a good score (somewhere on the Wiki they'll have the trophy size). 260 plus and you might have a comp winner. But as many on here have said, each animal might mean something special to you i.e. first kill with particular weapon, rare, long stalk, you own personal best etc. etc.

Here's the current leaderboard to marvel at some beasts:

check out some of my videos on there got loads. smashing very big red deer.

simple tip is Val des bois start one end of river just walk up it or down it. you will see get calls tracks from quite a few red deer. hirschfelden start the middle lodge focus on the open fields straight in front and to the south west , west area.
