Dog is not tracking

my dog is not tracking blood..im doing what i saw on video's but pooch aint doing nothing...what im i missing?

what tracking lvl do your dag have ? sometimes when the dog is low lvl can skip to tracking

Most Common Mistakes made by people.. Forgot to Analyse it with the huntermate before Sending the dog. Scan blood with the huntermate.. Then send the dog. It will go after last track scanned on huntermate. but Only after you Scan it.
* Forgetting to Send the dog after it BEFORE scanning next non blood track also is another common mistake*

yea when i get to the blood i hit the HM then hit v but the track blood is greyed out

ok so the track is greyed out.. So let's try to use the button command.. i do Believe the button for it is Defaulted "U to instantly make hinm track.. So after you scan the blood.. Without Using the "V" button.. just tru the instand button command Default "U" key. and see if it tracks.. if so; then well see about the "V " button command interface. Let's see how this turn up sir.
Also , I would like to check out you're type of dog too.. please Include you're Username you use in theHunter game sim; so I can inspect you're dog in you're profile Please.

ok well poor old fella tried ...the 'u' key did give the command he was tryin but we came across other tracks and stuff he did howl a few times ...here the funny thing he walked right over the down deer lol....i shot him low with a bow to get max blood.....so he still a rookie not giving up yet ....but thanks the u key gave the command

Well yes, his skills were low and thats expected.. *But the main thing is he started tracking, yes?* I asume so..Now we know theres something wrong with youre "V" key UI.. not the dog.
So first think i must have you do is Have Steam scan youre game for bad files.
In youre Steam Game Library in steam. Right Click on "theHunter Classic"
Click properties on the Bottom List on the Right Click menu that poped up there.
Then on the New popup Windows select the tab LOCAL FILES.
Then, on the Bottom Box, select VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES...
from there let Steam scan you're game for any Corrupted or Missing Files. it should automaticaly fix or replace them..
Let it finish everything.
Afterword try the game out again and see if that "V" key menu interface is working right..
If Still not working.. i recomend a Full unintall and reinstall regular. Hope it works then.. if not we will do a Complete uninstall removing certain folders left by the uninstall later.. for now i hope this simple thing wrks for you.

I had a similar problem, the command "track" (u-button) only worked when I were not sneeking or layed flat on the ground. But for training reason, you could hunt down an animal, which made two or three bloodtrails, before hunted down, even you see your kill sent the dog after it. It will skill up. Therefore I recommend to have the dog always at your side. Frequently use the commands and have some goodies, when you are out there. So that would be mine experience.

Similar issue here (playing with dogs since a long time), this is what happen :

-At the beginning of the hunt, no issue, all commands are OK
-After a few commands, suddenly, i can't order "fetch" anymore : from the radial menu, i select "fetch", the avatar drops what i am holding (often HM), but instead of doing the command (with the arm) it just raises again the HM. From the keyboard, exactly same issue.

It's NOT the same as when the command is greyed out, i can issue it, but it simply doesn't work. This issue started for me during the Easter event.

The order is simply not given, if i order the dog something that he can't do, i see the ? icon instead of !, but when i got the bug, no ?/!, just nothing like i never gave the order.

When the bug happens, i won't be able to order "fetch" during the whole hunt anymore. If i start another game session, the bug is not there anymore, but can still (and most of time will) reappear.

This is weird, as all other orders are ok, i can ask the dog to follow or to lay down, and the order is properly given and executed, but not for fetching or tracking. This happens with both blood hound and retriever.

The dog was quite useless before this bug, but now it's just annoying to carry a dog that won't help you, he just wanders in your legs like before, but won't help anymore.

Not a game breaking bug (i often track faster than the dog as i played for years without them), but it's quite disappointing when you see the price for any dog :/
