Should I get a dog?

Was thinking of getting a dog but had a few questions first.
1: Do dogs scare off animals?
2: Does the backpack or vest camo hide them better?
3: Do they work well (not buggy)
4: Retriever or Scent. I don't do much bird hunting. But will the Scent dog lead me to downed birds and rabbits?

1 - yes they can if they are not in a blind or laid down
2 - in theory I think so
3 - they don't work as well as I'd like; the retriever is very reliable, but the scent hound until it is trained is of limited use
4 - the scent dog can track wounded rabbits but not downed birds

plus.... there are issues with dogs not appearing in MP

Personally - it's a vanity item or fun item; not of massive use in the game but nice to have.

Hi Thom, I recently got me na ♥♥♥♥ and a Retriever and I love them to bits. It feeds my Geek. I found that they are a bit daft at times but funnily enough they grow on me. I take one with me every hunt, with backpack it adds 5kg extra inventory space with you

I named them both after Biblical great men. My girlfriend got a ♥♥♥♥ as well but she called it Hellen Keller.... As it fails to spot anything nor does it listen to her!

I got one of each and in my opinion; they're not worth it. The very few times where I need to track a wounded animal it can be useful but tbh I find that they're just a disturbance.

Well I did buy 1 of each. The retriver seems to make things easier for me. So I'm glad I have it. But yeah the Sniffer seems to be more of a pain.

I have 4 ;) and was happy see the White lab for sale.. But every time I try pay and get it ..it say.... Ooopp some when wrong ;((.... But I like the dogs, also good company on hunts and fun watch them, Speciel the Scent Dog. Scent Dog take times yes, before its fine good, but if to dogs I shure recomend them. :)

I think there might be an issue with the Scent dog. Once an or twice an hour I've seen him bug out into a tree or falling branch. Usally telling em to laydown or sit then follow agian fixes it.

Retriever is worth it. Great for grabbing that long distance rabbit kill or that downed ptarmigan that you did not see where it landed.

Scent hound is worth it for classic bow hunting. It helps a ton on those 20min wound times.

If I try to buy anything when logging into their home page from steam, I get the "oops something went wrong" messege.
I have to then login direct to their home page again and then it works. Dunno if that may be your problem?

Sadly they greyed it out when I contactet support.-. It was "for sale" for days and it dident work. Support claim its course it limited.. But thats not fair when they buy button was red and say Buy. So I rearly hope they admit it and set the White for sale some days.

Thats a bummer. I was able to pick one up on sale Dec, 31st with no issue. Think the sale was though the 2nd.
