Grey Wolf Hunting Tips.
I just can't seem to find any luck hunting Grey Wolves. I will apply scent eliminator, find an Elk carass, use the call a few times and then go prone at a nearby vantage point.

Then I will wait forever and the most I've gotten is wolves howling at the edage of the HunterMate map.

Is there something I simply do not know or am I just impatient and/or unlucky? I have tried hunting them at early morning and noon.

Even even if you did visit that area by running, it would still have taken you like 12min to reach, you would have spooked most animals and they would have been in a nervous state for 10min, not reacting to any calls.

There are areas with wolves that only take like 6min to run to (1km), but again... any nearby wolves could be spooked by running and leave the area or stay in that same 10min nervous state.

Add the fact that these areas tend to have less wolves, that wolves often don't respond to calls, that they need some time to travel back to the spot where you are if they do respond and that your Timbergold Trails hunts were on average no longer than 25 min, and it should by clear to you now that this is not going to be very successful.

My advice: place a tent near the bridge and from there on only walk. Find a carcass, preferable one that has wolf tracks nearby and hibernate there for at least 30min and if none show up, move to the next carcass.
Thanks for the tips.

Seems I need to be more patient.

Start at Everfall lodge.
Walk south and slightly east to the head of the Southern lake at the head of the river, and circle around the edge to the south shore.
There are some clearings along the south shore.
I have a tent and tower in the first clearing at the head of the lake and there are always Mules, Elk and Wolves there and the occasional bear wandering through as well.
Probably my favorite spot.
Its only about ten minutes walk from the lodge.
Set up a tent and its only one camping suppy to fast travel from Everfall.
Generally hunting along the river clearings on both river branches will give you good returns on all animals except Bighorn.
i have made a few vieos on them and locations for putting tents to get them.they are pretty eay to find . the middle river area is probably the easiest location to spot them.
