The Wayfarer one is how I started. It was a bit different then, but basically the same. With the shotgun, revolver, and the free .243 back then you could hunt everything with just that. Most players recommended the trailrunner pack.
What I did was got that wayfarer pack which was the most affordable one, and then added this and that as I went over time. Usually best to wait for a sale on a item you want.
I guess that would be my best recommendation now. If you have the 3 month membership, see how it goes. You will probably want a higher powered rifle and a bow type weapon in the near future. I would pick and choose as the sales come and go. Opinions will differ though.
Happy Hunting.
Thanks for the recommendation by the way.
With the .270 all you need now is possibly a bow or crossbow as the ability to kill silently is very useful. A high power weapon capable of delaing with bison and the big critters effectively is recommended.
I was just hunting Moose and after getting a clean kill with my .270 it says that it was unethical. I was looking at possibly getting the 7.62x54R (Nagant) rifle as it can hunt pretty much everything. I'm really limited atm to only small game.
7mm Raptor
9.3 Anschutz
.300
45/70 lever action
all have pros and cons... I am sure the experts will be piping up with their opinions if asked :-)
Thank you :)
The .300 will use the same scope as your .270 if this info helps you save money in the future =) Functions the same as the .270 as well and can hunt all big game.
Most of the community will recommend the raptor as it is border-line over powered. Semi-auto, but you would probably need to buy a scope for it seperate. It cannot use the 2-10x that came with your .270.
