I can't get over this gap in Train Rush on Death Wish no jumps

I've gotten past everything before it just fine. It's just this one little gap that's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me up. It's the one after the checkpoint, where there's no more train and there's a fire ring (about 2 minutes in at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyfLE6XdOY4 ). I can't for the life of me get over this gap. I'm sure I'm pulling off the ice hat jump perfectly, but I can barely reach it. Any help?

only thing I can suggest is getting closer to the edge then ice hat jumping and waiting a tiny bit more before cancelling your dash, holding forward might help too.

Be as close to the edge as you can
Then, just flick your hat ability button
Do not hold it down for a scond
Do not tap it
Run your finger across it
This is because the shorter it's held down, the more height the Ice Cancel gives you
At the same time, just after you do it, push your directional key to the next platform and then Air-Dash whenn you're as high in the air as you can get. You should make it over okay

Thanks, this helped me get to the second platform a lot more easily, but I can't get to the third one. Hat Kid simply can't jump high enough. Even doing what you said, it still feels like she's miles off the platform.

Personally I straight-up ignore the third platform and attempt to go right for the hookshot. You have a very narrow window to actually press your hook shot button once it appears but it works for me

Thank you, this is actually a really good way to cheese the third jump. Finally got the bonus done.
