Why is that haunted house scene so scary??
On it atm and its actually scary. I'm not great when it comes to horror and I cant play any horror games and that sequence actually is quite bad. Its atleast 3000 haunted.

LoL.. XD well you gotta go through that level to progress through the story.. but the Story behind why she's like that is ridiculous and sad at the same time.. just find the time rift near there and collect all the Photos

Because... I have no idea. They put it in because they felt like it and jesus bloody christ it was terrifying the first time through.

Okay so if you're getting scared I'd reccommend using the basement skip. You crawl between the barrels in the room where the first key is found and it takes you directly to the end.
If you don't EVER want to touch the level again just go for Time rifts to boost your timpiece count.
I can understand why people would be scared. Though I have almost near fear when it comes to Vanessa I still get a little startled when I accidentally put Hat Kid in harm's way. It's more atmosphere than anything and the music doesn't help.

You have to sneak past her, and collectkeys. Afterwards, go to the attic.

They put in in there because it sort of suits the oppresive and dark atmoshpere. It also adds into the Snatcher's backstory.

its ok to be scared about this i never expected this game to have a horror them quest. that's why i chickened out and used the shortcut.

Wait, seriously? There was a shortcut to skip the entire level this whole time? I just manned up and did it the old fashioned way because I'm used to horror games.

I just muted the music and put on some lofi vibes on spotify so yeah wasnt that hard

I can't be the only one who felt this was my favorite level? The thrill of being hunted and terrified and constantly hiding got my blood pumping. It felt so good I had to do the level a few more times after lol.

For some reason I'm the same way, First time through, I had to bring spare pants, afterwards though, i found myself coming back for more.

It's actually quite amazing. That one level manages to be more of a true-blue horror game (with tension, suspense, atmosphere and drama then most actual horror games. I kinda wish the level was longer given how good it was.

It USED to be longer, but the 3rd floor got cut due to the removal of Moonjumper, which meant they had to remove Snatcher interfering with your progress, along with the fact that it was just long and incredibly tedious. Although... we COULD possibly create custom maps with a similar feel to Vanessa's manor if the tools to add both Vanessa and any "Hiding" objects exists in the modding scene.

Why is it so scary? Because... I dunno, the devs actually wanted to do something creative?
As for the people who won't do it due to it being too scary, ♥♥♥♥ you, learn to appreciate a well designed level.
