Giving Time Piece to Mustache Girl in the end?
I've played the ending twice now, just to see if something different happens if you give her a time piece or not - I couldn't find any noticeable differences.

Did anyone?

nothing really happens just leads to the same results

There is no difference yet. Do keep in mind that the final two chapters are coming in the future, so the story isn't finished yet. It may have an impact on the way the final two chapters play out.

At the moment, it's just a morality thing, but it could play into the 2 bonus chapters in the future.

it's an opprotunity for you to decide for yourself what kind of person hat kid is. Since she's a silent protag she can't really explain herself when it comes to things like why she refuses to use the time pieces to fight crime with mustache girl. It's possible that she only cares about going back home, as MG and some players like to say, or perhaps it's out of belief that the power of the time pieces shouldn't be abused. So which is it? Is she selfish and uncaring or not?

The decision whether or not to lend her a little bit of time power, possibly risking her ability to go back home, in order to help make an enemy do the right thing might help shed some light on this, especially since no one, including mustache girl, is around to witness it, and will never know about it either way. It's a neat little moment at the end of the game for the player to have thier say on Hat Kid's nature and the story they just saw. I always think these little player choice moments are cool, regardless on whether they have big in-game effects or not.

I think in some way this was clevery imaginated by devs to be a 'donation incentive' on GDQ's runs, like the "kill the animals".

Maybe the future chapters will focus on her, having a grudge against hat kid. Could be something like "A mustache on revenge".

Correction to Yoshio: actually, Hat Kid seems either indifferent or annoyed or both with any given mission if her hidden diary is any indication. This combined with the overall events strongly implies that, until the end, she is True Neutral and couldn't care less what happens as long as she gets the Time Pieces with which she can get home. This choice may as well be deciding if she learned anything from the experience moreso than anything. Won't deny it would be nice if it had a bigger impact on the ending itself, though.

My personal favorite entry so far is the one for "Your Contract has Expired", btw. Basically reveals that she'd had enough of his crap by that point and the fight itself was her way of punishing him for thinking he could get away with betraying her.

Reading all her diary entrys really shines a different light on that inocent smile.

Indeed. Though it is interesting how the one for Queen Vanessa's Mansion is apparently pre-mission thoughts rather than post. And that even she was genuinely terrified during the actual thing. (Unless you knew about the manor-skip the dev team put in. Lol.)

Mustaches Girl mugged Hat Kid after falling out about the time piece, broke into her space ship TWICE, stole alot of time piece on her second break in, vandalized the space ship and with all the time piece power she became a dictator and more important became the very thing she hated, a bad guy.

Giving her the time piece means Mustaches Girl is doomed to repeat history of the abusing the time piece power

Note that this took what is implied storywise to be all 40 Time Pieces for her to do. One Time Piece can only rewind about 5 seconds. And it tends to work a bit differently in fiction where they get something like that from the very person that just beat them into the ground. Not uncommon in such cases for such an act of compassion to make them question themselves somewhat.

That said, only in fiction is this commonplace. Real life is quite a bit harder to predict. So take this with a grain of salt.

That, and Hat Kid in this particular choice is probably more concerned with letting her know that she was never really her enemy.

Small correction. The Chapter 2 boss asks for a timepiece to change past award ceremonies. It seemed that when Mustache Girl dropped one mindlessly, nothing really changed. When one has some alternate reality in mind, some details can be changed depending on the amount of timepieces.

Maybe they can't directly impact a person since they'd just immediately eliminate their foes. Only environment, perceived events, and oneself can be changed. The timepiece doesn't particularly bring destruction unto someone; it just makes conquering them easier.

And apparently all of them used at once results in a Disco Rave Dimension where the user gains the power of the Hado. These things are cool, is what I'm saying.
