A Hat in Time
How's the co-op in this game?
Do both players have near the same abilities? Or is it like Mario Galaxy/Odyssey where the second player is just minor support? (Asking here rather than looking it up because I want to go in blind.)

Debating whether to do co-op all the way through or just play by myself.

It's still buggy, and tbh it's really just for funzies. It actually breaks the game's difficulty by making it too easy.

Oh, alright then. I like to be challenged in games, so that difficulty breaking is a deal breaker for me. (It'd be something else if this game was as hard as Hollow Knight or something, but I've read it's not that hard to begin with.)
I'll go ahead and play solo.
Thanks!

Aye. It isn't very hard at all from the bit I have played it about 50% through I believe, but at least it is a lot of fun.

Co-Op in hat in time gets the job it (probably) set out to do done. Being providing a decent 2 player experience that both parties can have fun in doing stuff with. Splitscreen doesn't impede any player from platforming. Greifing(Friendly Fire) is allowed. And something else. This coming from a kid who bought A Hat In Time soley to get a younger sister to play a videogame for the first time in... 1.5 decades.

'course, text is cheap, so you probably should look at some videos showcasing A hat in Time's co-op to see for yourself if it's worth opening up for the first time.

You can increase the difficulty with a badge that make you die in 1 hit.

That would probably counter balance co-op really well, I'll definitely do that my second time through. (Or I guess for like 90% of it, since I don't think that badge is available until about the start of Chapter 2, which is actually good because then my co-op friend can learn how to play first.)

Playing through normally first is a nice break from the other really difficult games I have. (Kirby Star Allies used to be that, then a new arena came out...I do it with no allies.)
