A Hat in Time
Canon villain bird (spoiler alert, finish the game before reading)
Hi, I have completed the game recently, but I still need to finish the DLC “Seal the deal”. I was wondering, between the two birds of the 2nd chapter: The Conductor (Owl) and DJ Grooves (Penguin) is actually the villain or deserves to be the final boss of the said Chapter. I would like to hear your thoughts about it, in my preference I believe it’s DJ Grooves. But keep in mind, if the DLC also explains further more about it, just tell me

The Seal the Deal level will tell you who's the canon villain bird.

Actually, Chapter 6 doesn't say who the canon villain is. The only reason DJ Grooves doesn't show up is because he's busy with another movie, while the Conductor is on vaca to spend time with his family. Both are still alive, neither hates HK or blames them for loss of the time piece.

In the words a giant bug man. "Multi-verse Theory is a *****." It's the player's call as to who the Villain of Chapter 2 is so the whole "2 Different Outcomes" thing goes into effect, if the Conductor is the boss of Chapter 2, he just casually apologizes to Hat Kid if she talks to him in Chapter 6 while if Grooves was the boss (I'm assuming here since I haven't done a Save where Grooves is the boss, I just don't want to beat the guy up) one of his Penguins who are going on the Cruise sends the apology in his place since he's preoccupied with his next movie.

I usually go with Conductor since he shows up in the loading screen, and seeing that everyone else (save for Hat Kid) who shows up on it tries to kill Hat Kid at one point or another, it makes more sense.

Plus, it makes a tad more sense for the Conductor to have the bomb from the train for his battle. Sure, both birds use the other's gear during it, but the bomb felt like more of a plot element.

I'd say Grooves just from his Character. Grooves starts off fairly friendly towards you, and acts like your friend the whole time. Which makes it more of a twist after thinking you helped the good guy win. The Conductor starts off as a nasty old man but warms up to you towards the end. This is shown during the Grooves fight where the Conductor suddenly shows up to help defuse his bomb. And it makes sense that the Conductor knows how to defuse his own bomb, like how would Grooves about defusing a bomb? But stealing and starting one is fairly simple. I also prefer Grooves' dialog during the fight and if you think about it, Grooves has more to gain from stealing the Time Piece. But as you guys say it's really up to you.

I totally agree. And Conductor's motive for stealing the time piece is really weak in general, Grooves's plea to have just one has a lot more weight in comparison.

I agree however not because of grooves character alone. I have a little headcanon/theory that timepieces warp people's minds and make them greedy and evil, their greatest desires become greater and they never give the timepiece back. And since Grooves is already tired of losing, it would make sense he becomes the greater villain
