A Hat in Time

Need a fix for broken mustache girl
So I'm trying to do the boss rush death wish and I get to mustache girl every time but I constantly lose to her because when she does her attack where she teleports a ton and then comes up behind you and hits you she will litterally always hit me even if I'm far away. This litterally makes the death wish impossible for me to finish because every time I face her she always just teleports behind me and CLEARLY misses me but still gets the hit. If there is any known fix for this that would be great. (Also this fight also bugs out a lot with mustache girl constantly gets stuck out of bounds and I just have to wait for her to teleport back in)

Time your umbrella to hit her before she hits you. If you're too early, she'll dodge the attack. If you're too late, she'll hit you.
She also has a HUGE vertical hitbox for whatever reason on her slap attack, making jumping ineffective. Use the sprint hat or timed dives to move fast enough to where she misses.

Her hitbox is irrelevant here. You just have to smack her with your umbrella (on time) mate.

Use time stop hat

There's like a 5% chance she'll spawn just out of reach of your umbrella but she can still reach you for normal boss rush. It's like 80% in Seal the Deal so you're better off running away there.

She only ever spawned out of reach for me when I was running around. Standing still always resulted in her being right up close brushing her stache against my hat.

That's definitely the best option but sometimes you can get caught up in her other attacks that you accidentally move around before you realize she's using her teleport which means too late of course. But yeah, standing still to hit her is the best option. Of course, when it's raining hourglasses that's pretty unsafe but the alternative is jumping and spamming and hoping your homing attack hits her.

Here's my absolute protip for that particular attack: use the 'Hat select wheel'!

Using Time stop hat causes that nasty and long cooldown to occur, which you don't want, BUT there's another cheesy way to slow down time, and it's using the Hat selection wheel.

Yeah, while the menu is open you slow down, too, but during that slap attack it doesn't matter, because you only need some more reaction time.
Just stand in place, and when Mu starts to get near, bring up the menu to slow down time, and you'll have like 3-4 seconds to react to where she wants to hit you from.
After letting go of the hat select button, just quickly turn towards her, smack her with your umbrella, and BOOM! Guaranteed and easy counter every time.

You can also jump in the air and use the homing attack, it gives you invincibility frames while being done and actively stops Mustache Girl so she can't avoid the damage.

Just gotta make sure you're roughly facing her direction then just mashing the attack button should let you get the homing attack in.

I would do that but the homing attack isn't 100% consitant. Like it can be really good but I just don't trust it.

Agreed. Homing attack not being consistent is what drove me to change to just staying put and counter-smacking her.
As far as the EX fight goes, it worked every time once I got good at it.
I generally found the homing attack consistent enough as long as you jumped so you faced in her direction (so Forward for regular fight or backwards for EX, double jumping back and homing attack counters EX regardless) and just spammed the attack button, as long as the jump was timed right generally should work 100% of the time, atleast for me.

Played using KB+M that perhaps makes attack spamming easier than on a controller, since your thumb otherwise has to come off the right stick and all, which would make camera a bigger pain, I dunno.
