Developer Console Doesn't work

I've activated the option to have the console however everytime i reset my game i Can't use it. the keys don't do anything. TAB doesn't work. help pelase

The option only truely enables if you exit out of the game, then go back in. Not to mention, if you are on a Death Wish, the devs made it spefifically to hurt you if you try to use it.

I've closed the game multiple times as well as restart my pc. I haven't got the DLC so that isn't the issue i believe

then you can use the cheats.

You have to do this every single time you enter a new area. It's stupid, but that's just how the game works.

If you are on Windows 10, try running the game/steam itself as admin. It may be that the game simply does not remember the setting because it does not have enough rights to actually write them. Also make sure the game's files do not have "Read-only" attribute set, as this will also prevent the settings from being saved.

May be a good idea to disable antivirus as well, assuming you have one installed, as it also can meddle with game's settings and behaviour, because AV hooks onto system functions in order to monitor the applications running and thus can break things unpredictably.
