Why is Everyone so Easily Impressed by the Snatcher?

I am genuiely interested why everyone loves the Snatcher so much so that I can try and copy that easy formula later on for different characters. The Snatcher seemed like a very bland version of that cliche joke about an overly evil bad guy who is funny to watch fail or have small moments of humanity along the way, kind of like.... a lazier version of Aku from Samurai Jack or Mojo Jojo from the Power Puff Girls (best known example I could think of).

So what is it that seems to make fans of this game love him so much? His appearance? His voice actor? His deal for contracts (which honesly just got a little cringy for me by the time he used that joke again in the ending credits scene)? What is it that you guys love about the Snatcher over all the other characters in the game?

Me personally, I don't LOVE Snatcher, but he is a fun character none the less.
