Was the snatcher based on Stan from the ps2 rpg okage shadow king?

A character in this game looks a lot like Stan from an old ps2 rpg thats about a boy who is possessed by an evil king shadow. The two character designs look very similar, did they do this as a reference?

it's possible but it's more likely he was inspired by the Demon of the Chest from Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door.

He favors stan from Okage visually but his sfx sound nearly IDENTICAL to the chest demon from PMTTYD. I like to think he references both characters.
