Report a translation problem
Assuming you do, there are two ways to access online mode:
Option A: Select the option "Online Party" at the bottom of the main menu
Option B: In the main room of the spaceship, right by the entrance to the kitchen, there should be a machine you can interact with. Do so.
Either option should provide a menu that will allow you to 1) activate/deactivate online play and 2) choose if you want to join a party.
Leaving the party textbox blank will mean you will only run into random guests on occasion, but entering something in there (such as the popular "peck") will let you join that party see everyone else currently in there.
You can find additional options allowing you to see/hide player names and avatars, as well as toggle sticker emote sounds from other players in settings > game settings > online party, accessible from the pause and main menus.
