From what I can gather, it's supposed to be to just mess around, show off your skins (though there's a large amount of skins that don't actually show up between players, so you either get default hat kid or hat kid with different colors and no model change), and compete to see who can get the most Pons and finish the level. It's a bizarre choice considering that Local Coop not only exists, but allows both players to fight the same bosses, enemies, and complete objectives together.
It's still a good DLC, and I suppose online semi-coop is better than no online coop at all, but man if I'm not disappointed. Hopefully GFB can make Online Coop available in the near future, provided this isn't the last major update for the game.
If it's fun for you, that's great, but keep in mind that people like myself were hoping for real online coop to experience the levels and bosses and plot _together_.
In my opinion, the statement:
Is misleading. Saying "some" game features are not synced is an understatement.
It would be great if in the future they added an online version of the 2 player local co-op.
Either way, we refunded the game. Thank you for your responses guys.
