Regardless, good job on your steady progress! Boss Rush One Hit Hero is the biggest pain in all of Death Wish imo. If you do that bonus you're all set .
AHIT has recently joined Hollow Knight for me as one of the select few games (not counting MMOs) to ever give me over 300 hours of fun. It's amazing how much we can squeeze out of games!
Woo~ :D
It might take a little bit to get readjusted to Mustache Girl's regular battle, but hopefully you'll find the fight to be more relaxing now after the EX variant. Just remember that she still has the Teleport Slap in her final phase. I think I might have suggested you to always use the homing attack as a counterattack in the final phase, but I found that the Umbrella can still work as long as you're not standing under an hourglass reticle right as the attack is beginning. So if you prefer the Umbrella, it's still viable. And now you can use Time Stop in addition to that.
I would wonder how you'd find fresh content for 300 hours, but then I remembered this game has mod support. I played the entire main game with my cousin who's about 2 years younger than me (finished half a week ago), and both of us had a blast! Although I have 2 other games that have good co-op to play with her, we can still probably play mods and have just as much fun as we did in the official game, granted mods tend to have less levels that are made with co-op in mind. I've also been playing some of the Death Wishes I've already gotten all 3 stamps on with a mod that lets you use co-op anywhere, even in Death Wish... I won't do that with ones I'm not done with though. I've gotten this far with out P&T or mods, won't use them now!
I always needed to get lucky and have Mu in front of me when using the umbrella for the slap, I prefer trying to homing attack or dodging entirely.
I think I'll take a break for the night, but for a progress report, I have 98/117!
Never mind, I can't mark my post as an answer.
It's less mods and more me goofing around and challenging myself. I've also played the game before DLC came out so my mind was always fresh and wanting to reexperince things when the DLC changes always came. That said, that co-op mod combined with Parsec may open even more replaying of me with a friend ooh thanks for that tip
Other than speedrunning, my biggest passion project for this game to add those hours recently was trying to Zero Jump the Death Wish levels, of which a surprising 28 of 30 can be done that way.
There are always different ways you can extend the longevity of a game for yourself.
Congrats on 98/117. Though, there's only 114 so I assume you have a DW mod installed?
You definitely deserve some rest. Your conviction to play the mode legitimately is truly great to see. Good luck!
Yes, I do! I kept it out of the comment because it was big enough already.
I have a mod called "The Dweller's Outhouse", which acts as a kind of Outhouse EX. I wasn't told to advertise it or anything (since that's totally what mods do (jk)), just think an Outhouse EX belonged in the game. There's a neat gimmick for hurting it too! For those that haven't played it, you still need bomb apples, but you only hurt him with your umbrella...
Haven't beaten it yet, but I'm definitely keeping it, it fills a gap the game left by including Outhouse in Boss Rush but not giving it an EX.
Edit: It also has an easier version of the boss in the mod level select, I thought they were the same for a good while, but they're not.
But yeah, I can agree it feels like the mode missed a few opportunities for extra Death Wishes. Toilet and Nyakuza being the prime examples (thankfully a nyakuza DW mod fixes the nyakuza ones too)
My specific nyakuza mod I use btw goes under the name "Death Wish+" as well . Not the one that sends your stamp count to 180 with 22 levels, though.
It's kind of neat if you think about it. This entire list of EX Help Discussions started with me being told how to beat one bonus in Mafia Boss EX by Fraudulent, and here we are with all 4 EX Bosses beat and a help discussion for Boss Rush, which I'll beat most likely tomorrow. Not to mention about 5 different people giving tips on and off through it all.
"I'm gonna miss you when you're gone. Failing over and over, what a great time we had!"
It's in the description, good luck...
