A Hat in Time

Old/Deleted Mods stay on disk when removing them? Any way to manually remove?
Ok, so I noticed that my folder for the game A Hat in Time was fairly large, and the reason for that was that I have quite a lot of very old mods installed. The game has had multiple iterations of updating the way it's mod support works, which has left some very old mods broken and removed from the Steam Workshop.

Unfortunately, these mods now seem to be stuck on my harddrive. I went through every mod manually to find out which ones have been deleted from the workshop, unfortunately, when I attempt to delete them... whether it's by clicking "unsubscribe" from the Steam Workshop mod list or clicking the trash-icon for the mod in-game... they seem to remain. The mod itself gets removed from my mod list... but the folder and all it's data taking up harddrive space is still there.

Is this a common issue with Steam deleting "removed" mods, or something unique to this game? How would I go about manually deleting them then so I can get back that disk space? I am guessing I can't just delete the folder since they seem to be registered in some kind of list or configuration file and it's not just the folder's existence in the Mods main folder that allows this system to work.

I don't suppose there is any way to just nuke and re-download all my mods without having to manually delete and re-install each one one-by-one?

For what it's worth, unsubscribing deletes the mods properly for me.
Your mods should be stored in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\253230. Count the number of folders there and the number of your subscribed items in your Hat in Time workshop page. They should be equal.

You could always try moving the contents of that folder somewhere else and restarting Steam. It might automatically re-download the mods you're subscribed to. Or maybe you'll then have to go to your subscribed items and toggle them off and back on again to get Steam to update it.
