I particularly like ESDF, because that leaves room for your pinky to use the QAZ keys. Plus, it's only natural, since the left hand is on the home row keys when having to type anyway. But that's just me, I'm just weird like that.
This.
Only two complaints I have about this game so far is my inability to rebind the keys, and also the fact that I can't play teh game in my aspect ratio for some reason. I thought 1920x1200 was fairly standard...
I can't stand the keyboard controls so I guess I'm out of luck for a little while. Feeling burned.
The camera AI is really good at least.
\Steam\steamapps\common\HatinTime\HatinTimeGame\Config\Gamepads\
and find the .ini for the controller being used.
I use keyboard so in this case keyboard.ini
Within this file it contains an ID for every key possible to be used and then at the very bottom is the ingame actions with the defaulted IDs.
Find the ID of the key you want to use and replace the action with that ID and it should work.
Hope this helps!
I just tried this out myself and it works perfectly. I'd be careful to make a back up in case you mess up but otherwise it's pretty easy aside from kind of confusing move names. I.E. The dash is something along the likes of Hat_Player_Crouch
That's because the dash button is also the crouch button. The button names aren't that confusing, pls.
You aren't wrong. I was able to quickly put 2 and 2 together upon my immediate confusion. And I assume most people would be able to as well. But I find that clarity and descriptiveness when it comes to things like this are just a considerate thign to include. It didn't detract from my original point and certainly didn't warrent such a reply.

Eh, config menus aren't really meant for players' eyes, even though we more often than not look at them and mess with them anyway, because we're on PC.
I believe they left it like that because keybindings were supposed to be in the game, so there's no need to make the config file any less confusing to anyone looking in from the outside because they should have it in the options.
That's my guess, the input options menu does say you can change keybindings, so I assume it's a feature they either forgot about or didn't realise they didn't put in. All of the buttons also have key text images for them, after all. At least, with the bindings I did change.
Thanks!
This should let you customize the keys to match what you need
