How to unlock Train Rush?

An act in Battle of the Birds is locked and it's says I'm missing a key item. Is it an item from the past acts in that chapter or an entirely different chapter?

It's an item from a different chapter.
It's the hookshot ability which you lack to be able to start Train Rush, you unlock it from Act 2 of the Subcon Forest.

im stuck here to, but im also stuck at act 2 of subcon how do you break the ice cause one of the paintings is stuck in it lmao

Pick up the cherry item, then find a spirit, it turns it into a bomb

Combine one of those grey-ish pink cherry things with the ghost worms to make a bomb and break the ice with it.

There are fruits around that the lost spirits will dive into, which makes those fruits become bombs. Toss the bomb-fruit at the ice
