Chapter 4 is bad
The first 3 chapter is amazing with lovable character(s) and stories but the 4th chapter is just platforming. What do you think?

Well, it is a platform game ... I enjoyed the platforming in the 4th chapter but didn't think much of the so called "free roam" design (it really wasn't), which more often than not left me running around trying to work out where I had and hadn't been yet.

ya didnt like chapter 4, was a glorified "level selector"

This game is a platformer, and it doesn't stop getting better. Chapter 4 was great! Exploration is always fun in this game, and chapter 4 kind of maximizes that aspect. It's a sandbox-y chapter.

But, this heat is GR-R-R-REAT!

The only thing I felt was odd was how the "Illness has spread" just very suddenly happens.
All the rest of it you can kind of piece together your surroundings as places the goat from the time rift had visted since the time rifts tell a little backstory that fills in the gaps for the present of the level.

It's also a little odd the mumble badge doesn't seem to work in the Alpine Skyline at all.

It has the weakest story, but I liked chapter 4 too because it has the most variety in level environments. You get mountain climbing, a giant bridhouse, a clockwork tower ascent, a lava zone, a ghost dimension, and a flower warzone. Chapter 2 is the only one with similar level variety (and was by far my favorite chapter).

I thought the latter missions in chapter 1 were weakest, because it stops giving you new areas to explore after act 4 and you're just running around places I'd already thoroughly explored for treasure.

Considering all the great themes and stories the other chapters had, Chapter 4 does seem a bit weak. It's still good, but by the time you arrive, you don't really expect straight platforming.

Also, a lot of stuff that just doesn't seem to make much sense under the game's internal logic, but that might just be me.

I really liked chapter 4. It would have been my favourite chapter if it had an actual boss fight.

I disagree. It's possibly my favorite.

I personally loved chapter 4, not because it was a free roam, but because it felt like a "Four Trials" level.

- No boss battle
- No unique cover art for each level

Other than the mentioned above, Ch4 was pretty good.

The one thing I will say about Chapter 4 is it might have been better if it told you in advance how many hourglasses there were before the finale. The finale wouldn't feel so sudden and the whichever area you do last would feel a bit more final.

Also it might have been better if instead of a bunch of one-line NPCs, those kids were all replaced by one person who's implied to be teleporting ahead of you. Even if they had almost the exact same lines. It would give them some time to grow a personality and probably head off the most common complaint.

I think you should interact with the wooden cross thingamabobs (there's three).

Ch 4 was my favorite of them all. Not that I disliked the stories in the other chapters, but I appreciated finally getting to just roam around without being dropped into long cutscenes. And I thought it had the strongest platforming, too.

Chapter 4 was awesome aside from the finale. It had some of the most solid platforming in the game.
