A Hat in Time
Deliberately tied the score in Battle of the Birds to see what happens.
Nothing actually, it picks the winner at random, I'm a little disappointed honestly,
I was hoping for at worst a crash and at best some kind of bonus or something.

Did you take a screencap of this?
They even stateted that it is randomly picked, would've been nice if something happend though

I also went ahead and did this after I was slightly disappointed there was no real change in the boss fight other then whom your fighting, it would've been nice to see them use different attacks but I didn't really mind.

So I went back and tried to tie them in the hopes of a double boss fight with both of them trying to get you and/or each other but was just presented with the random winner situation.

I didn't know you could fight DJ Grooves... I'll have to replay the events to see!

Huh, I was wondering about this. To be honest, I am surprised that the game even checks for a draw, I would have assumed the code just simply assumed one was winning unless the other had a higher score.

Its weird, I felt like the fight makes more sense with DJ Grooves, but both sides are hilarious because of how "over-the-top" the voice actors were.

Half the moves the boss does feel like they belong to Grooves, and the other feel like they belong to Conductor. The disco ball was clearly meant for Grooves, and it feels very out of place to see The Conductor do it, but the knife and cars felt more like they were meant for The Conductor and felt weird to see Grooves using them.

The idea, I believe, is that all of the attacks used in that bossfight are props from both of the movie sets.
But yea, some attacks definitely fit better for each specific boss.

Well, as the condoctor says about the knife: "This one is not rubber"

Also, it's not just the existance o fthe disco ball, but the way the Conductor stands and spins on it.

The cars are actually taken from Grooves' level, but I can see how you'd think they have the Conductor's aesthetic. As for the second half, the bomb is obviously from the train but Grooves justifies it by saying he stole it, and the band is from Grooves' level but they look like Conductor's minions.

Personally I also think the fight "makes more sense" with Grooves. Both the aesthetics, and the plot. Trying to go back and "un-fix" decades of awards going to the same person is a better motivation than crying foul over one year you didn't win. "Friendly" Grooves suddenly showing his darker side while "Jerk" conductor comes to help save you feels like a natural end to their arc. And there's no reason for a stadium full of owls cheering the conductor on when they don't even really like him, whereas the penguins do seem to like Grooves.

Also, I like DJ Grooves better.

I finally had time to get back in and finish the boss battle against The Conductor, I thought it was pretty good, the second phase in particular was really tense.

The way I hoped neutral would go was for Conductor and DJ Grooves to hypocritically team up against Hat Kid for sabotoging the awards, even though they were both doing the same thing, or maybe for refusing to make a deciding vote.

actually, for the achievement, is it 2000 points on both sides or 2000 points total?
pirate240 Oct 23, 2017 @ 10:31am
2000 total for the achievement
Karsten69 Oct 23, 2017 @ 10:49am
okay good. I was worried I had to get 1000 in each stage.

Going back to the argument about "Which director did the devs intend to be the boss", I just thought of another way they favored Grooves: In the level select screen, the dream photos, the division of the studio, and every scene where they appear together, Conductor is always on the left and Grooves is always on the right. Heck, I think Conductor's room is even to the left of Grooves' room when you're exploring the studio basement.

Well, during the boss fight, whichever director lost always appears to the LEFT with the scissors, placing the award winner on the right.
