In the later part when you are taken to Dr. X's 'lair', you will find Liz pinned to the wall at the far right. After examining her, Suzan will remark that it looks like she's been dead for longer than a few days, and contemplates that she might have been having a vision of Liz from beyond the grave. I think that makes the most sense, because there isn't any other explaination as to how she gets the blood on her clothes suddenly. Also, Dr. X tries convincing you that you didn't see Liz, and later says he would have let you go if you hadn't known about her (ie, if you didn't know he had killed her).
