in a chapter in TCL you get to meet joe and ivy and by playing downfall you learn to understand their story basically. but thats my view of it ^_^
Ignoring the order of creation of the games, I still suggest you to start with TCL. The buildup in that game makes a great base for Downfall, and Downfall has a few elements and namedrops that regards Lorelei, the last game.
In a dramatic sense, Downfall is the highest, middle point in the trilogy, it works a lot better as a reflection to, and escalation from The Cat Lady's themes.
On the other hand, TCL shows characters from Downfall in a more passing teaser-like form which does not spoil Downfall.
I guess so, haven't played it yet.
It was released as the last game of the series, and if I remember correctly, Lorelei is namedropped around the end of Downfall and it's a big moment.
I feel it would be super spoiler-y to play it before the others, as dramatically and story-wise it would fit best after playing TCL and Downfall
I'm pretty sure someone who already played it can shine a bit more bright on the topic.
Yup, play it chronologically.
