I personally use OBS for my gaming videos which is also free. There's Shadow Play too if you have a nvidia card (free also)
At this time you won't be able to record full screen games using Camtasia, though most games do offer a "Windowed Fullscreen" option that you can record; here's a quick guide on recording video games if you'd like to review it: {LINK REMOVED}https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/203728918 . One thing to keep in mind is that Camtasia now works with the popular recording applications' (OBS, Fraps, Bandicam, Action!, etc.) output files.
