When you open the Camtasia Recorder go to Tools - Options and then change the Temp directory. Once you have changed that option, click on the Program tab and then un-check the "Hide preview window after recording is stopped" so you can then choose to save your Recordings to your D:\ (which I hope is a local drive, and not an external drive? We do not recommend storing source files, the temp directory, or projects on external drives, network drives, or cloud-synced folders like Dropbox or OneDrive). We are looking to implement a default save location, though when that option becomes available, I do not know.
Oh! Many thanks for your help! It worked,
Now I can freely record long videos and don't worry about the free space.
Yes, it's a local D:\ drive. I already tested and made a couple of recording - everything works as good as it worked before.
P.S.: Thank you for great software. And special thanks for the Subcription option. I wasn't able to afford using Camtasia before.
Hi there.
I have a related problem and was wondering if you could lend me a hand.
My external drive is my "C" directory, and i of course don`t want to fill it with software related stuff, camtasia itself it`s installed in the D:\ directory but it has some stuff also in the C:\ as well. They are not a big deal since they are small files, mostly library related files that i don`t want to tamper with out of fear they might break.
The issue is that when i render something, some files go the "temp" folder in C:\ and i was wondering if there is any way to stop the program from saving stuff in the C:\ direcory at all.
This became clear when i render a two hour long video and in crashed because it filled the "temp" folder in my C:\ directory i dont want to have to constantly delete files from there.
Thanks in advance
