I've noticed a decent number of teams in tourneys w/ 1 super low rank and 2 higher ranks. Stomps on diamond solo players.

Getting Banned for leaving casuals???? What the absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is that??? CASUAL, you understand what that name means right??? What happens if someone leaves early? Maybe my team may loses, but why does it matter????? It's freaking casuals!!!! OH, you offended that your teammate left you in the CASUAL match, well, simple. Stop whining and keep playing cause, it's Casuals. Grow up.
Jesus, can't believe what I just saw in the post. Why don't you guys also add ranks in Casuals, so that people become excessively toxic even in casuals. That will do the trick. You know what, you don't need to, players will automatically become severely toxic in casuals from now on, more then they ever have been.
Casual experience? Nice term there. You guys are ruining the casual experience yourselves with this rule. Ragequitters should get punished? yes, in Ranked and Tournaments. But casuals? WOW. You guys really have some Big Brain.

Instead of insta-leave they will insta-ff, with the first goal. If you won´t ff with them, they will just insult, afk or troll. I see very few 5 minute casual games in the future.

Agreed! 100% the fact that you can leave at any time is kinda what makes casual games relaxing. If people are complaining about teammates leaving, I don't know what to tell them. casual isn't meant to be taken very seriously. If I have to leave to do something or I get a call mid game (happens often) I shouldn't have to worry about a ban.

Umm, i'm happy for the update, the new 2v2 tournaments will be sick, super hyped for it! The cant play with someone who is 3 ranks lower is also good, but does that apply to 2s as well? In 3s, sure, i don't want a teammate that is a few ranks lower than i am, but in 2s, if i want to play with my friend who is a lower rank i should be able to. These are great updates tho!

The casual ban is a really bad one. If i want to leave a casual match because of literally any reason in the world, please let me do it, since it is a casual match. If i want to leave because i have limited time to play, or i got a phone call, or i got bored, or even if i'm not happy with the teammate i got, then please let me leave. It is casual, i'm causing no harm by leaving it.

If my teammate leaves a casual match that i'm enjoying, i keep playing because i'm enjoying myself, and it probably had a reason my teammate left. If i wasn't enjoying the match for some reason, i would have left before my teammate did, to find a match i can enjoy. Causing no harm, again, because it it casual.

Imagine a scenario, where your teammate gets upset at you for whatever dumb reason, you lost a kickoff or something, it happens, it happens in ranked as well. Now he goes afk, he starts throwing, and he will not forfeit just so he can punish you. You can't leave anymore, it's casual, you'll ruin HIS experience if you leave, you have to stay for as long as the game lasts.

I'm honestly never like this, but guys this decision is bad, please think about it.

the casual ban is the most garbage idea I've ever seen, it's like you try to make a more competitive environment but oh... wait, doesn't your game have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ competitive mode already ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Leave the casual casual and hire capable people to make decisions to avoid this kind of unbelievably stupid, clearly not thought through dumb bad terrible ideas, remove it.

-should have atleast add a time restriction for the ban in casual mode if you guys in psyonix doesnt have the resource to make an unrank playlist, for ex, you cant just leave casual when the match you hop in still have more than half of its game time, but after that, you can freely leave the casual game, withouth the need to ff with your teammates

-im curious on how the >3 rank difference ban will affect solo q in 3s, but for you guys that complain that you cannot play with your friends, remember that you can still play 2s regardless of your rank differences, and if you have a party of 3, you can still play 3s normally even if you and your friends have more than 3 rank difference

leave casual, get ban. excuse me, wtf? there is no game in the world were you receive a ban for leaving a casual game early. hence why? because it's casual. hop in, play some, hop out anytime.

just do it like cs:go and put in a competetive mode, but without ranks. for those players that want to commit to a full game but can't stand the pressure of ranks. OH WAIT? THERE IS ALREADY AN OPTION TO DEACTIVATE RANKS IN COMP?? WOOOOWOW. Maybe tell them guys that complained about leavers in casual.

One game lasts about 6 - 8 minutes. If you don't have that kind of time then you shouldn't queue at all.

Im happy that there finally doing real mechanical and game development changes. I just wish they didn't take a whole entire year to start.
