Game freezing when joining party, game or ending game, sometimes crashes
A friend of mine is having this issue. The PC and its components are a lot better than average. It once said it had something to do with split screen, but changing anything related to it didn't seem to help. Aside from that one time, there's no error being reported. Rarely, it also freezes mid-game for a few to ten seconds. This started probably more than a month ago. Verify integrity, re-install, re-download, clearing cache, turning off Discord overlay and other microphone stuff didn't help. All drivers are up-to-date and the OS is Windows 10, also up-to-date (and they were obviously up-to-date before when the game worked).

Just in case write at least their Graphics card.

Try:

Also search for Errors in crash reports or in Logs:
  • Control Panel - Security and Maintenance - Maintenance - Reliability History (Monitor) - View all reports -
    Search for Rocket League/Windows or Nvidia/Amd application and View Details for most recent date. (if you have more reports click on "More" and double click to open one with recent time)


  • File explorer - Documents - My games - Rocket League - TAGame - Logs - Open most recent text files (Lauch or Launch-backup) and search for errors inside.

It was GeForce 1070.

Nothing from the listed things helped and there were no related errors reported in reliability history at all and no clues regarding the crashes in the logs. The game also worked for half a day without a problem and then started not working again when no changes were made, so it's highly likely that it's on the side of Rocket League itself that the connection is not stable. Interestingly enough, at the same time that the game worked for my friend, I had a severe FPS drop (to like 5 frames per second) which disappeared later when the game was not working properly for him again.

What has connection to do with game freezing/crashes ?
Maybe some errors like these appears when you got kicked from match ?

There should be crash reports in Reliability History everytime game crashed or stopped responding. Maybe there are some other errors causing game crash or crash report for "Launcher" with RL icon.

Same for Logs.
You can copy text or upload screenshot (imgur.com) ,or text (pastebin.com).

Otherwise your friend can Submit a Help Ticket[support.rocketleague.com] with attaching log files[support.rocketleague.com].

Usually, it freezes for him when he joins my party or I join his party, then it freezes when joining a match (from my side, it says that the place for him is "reserved" for like half a minute before he joins). Sometimes, it freezes once or twice during the game and then it freezes when the match ends. This last freeze is the one that usually ends up in the game crashing for him (rarely, it's one of the previous freezes). On my side, it says "X lost connection", "X left the party" slightly before the crash. There's almost never an error being reported after the crash. I think only once it said something about split screen and once a bugsplat, but that's out of tens of times.

There were no related errors reported in reliability history at all, not for Rocket League, Steam, any launchers, graphics cards etc.

Are you using Bakkes Mod just in case ?

In Logs should be something :
File explorer - Documents - My games - Rocket League - TAGame - Logs - Open most recent text files (Lauch or Launch-backup)

No mod is being used. Now, it's crashing either before a single game is started or during the first game (meaning sooner than what was usual until now), even though nothing changed with the PC.
