My settings get reset every few game boots.
Hello!

I have recently been getting this problem with steam where every few boots of rocket league through steam (big picture mode and normal steam) my controls, camera settings, and quick chat all get reset to some weird layout that is not the default preset. The quick chats are super random and obscure but seem to be the same each time, same for the controls and the camera settings.

I am using a 3rd party USB Xbox 360 controller because it is my only controller.

As the title says it does not happen every single time I restart the game, just every 2 or 3 restarts. At first I thought it happened once a day but it does not seem to follow any pattern.

I have completely reinstalled the game, deleted all the files (Documents/My Games/Rocket League) and the steam dir. I have turned off steam cloud, messed with the steam controller settings and to no avail.

I have been trying to fix the problem for a few weeks now and this was my last resort.
Any help, useful or not would be appreciated.

Psyonix really messed up with implementing only there PREFERed control system to the steam controller. I have the same issue they do not care about the minority that use the system as it does not work with their new mode. I am disabled and can only use the steam controller so they have made this game inaccessible to a minority of disabled people as well.

What you described sounds like one of corrupt data symptoms - game settings resetting.
Fix would be probably basically what you wrote - disabling Steam cloud and renaming Rocket League folder in Documents - My Games.
Although deleting should be same as renaming because if when you rename it's only because you can recover Replays and Trainings.

Could be also theroretically caused by OneDrive cloud syncing folder Documents - My Games - Rocket League.
So if you have OneDrive installed then try some of things here :

Otherwise better to login on support site https://support.rocketleague.com/ and submit ticket or start Live Chat if it's available on bottom right corner.

As I wrote in topic you created if you are able to connect controller to game without Big Picture - Steam Controller Configuration then you can just change bindings in game Settings - Controls - Change Bindings.

You definitely don't have same issue as OP so please don't discuss/report other issues here.

Didn't seem to work. I logged on this morning and all of my car presets were completely different, my controls switched to some old layout, camera settings reverted, etc. I completely deleted OneDrive off of my computer and it DID have some sort of backup of the documents folder where the RL settings are.

Although I might have some sort of lead; but it might just be insane My little brother plays on switch on a different Epic Games account, but earlier this morning he was showing me his car design which has some of the new silly flower cosmetics and I log on this morning and no joke it the THE SAME CAR with the same decal, same wheels, same topper and boost. I have no clue if this it just some insane coincidence or somehow out epic games accounts are linked or whatever but that just broke my brain.

Any clue what might be happening here? I would love to fix this because it is a pain in the butt to go and fix my controls and camera settings every time I log on. Thanks.

Double check when you login on RL activate page if your brother have or don't have connected Switch to same Epic Games account :

Maybe it could be issue with Steam cloud too.

Esto fue lo que hizo que deje juego. 1800 horas jugadas, y no tenia pensado dejar de jugar, pero es tan complicado y tanta vuelta para solucionarlo, lastimosamente asi terminara. Cuando vendieron la empresa y vendieron los servidores de alguna forma se migraron mal los datos o quizas la sync con los servidores sigue falladando. Como hacia rato pasaba
