This is very frustating, i have no solution for you mate, i'm just letting you know you're not alone, some people posted about this problem thourough the year, it's very random and nobody really know the cause and nobody have a real solution :C
Otherwise, I'd try a clean install of new GPU drivers, and I'd check event viewer > windows logs > application
Then in there, search for 'rocketleague' and see if there are error logs with an exception code and a faulting module path
Event viewer never showed any error about rocket league. I verified the game cache, didn't find any errors. Will post again when rocket league freezes again.
I am not sure how the game behaves with SLI setups....so can't speak about that. BUT I think checking the game cache (through the steam library, assuming you know what I mean) actually helps....don't ask me why, maybe it was just a coincidence. IT is definitely some bug, maybe something to do with the network, but I can't say I am 100% sure it never happened in training offline either (can't remember), so.....just check the cache regularly and maybe try to change drive where the game is installed.
