The game keeps randomly freezing
There are lots of results on google about rocket league freezing. In my case I have no idea what is causing it.

i5 6600k
gtx 1070
16 GB ram
rm850i
win 10
steam controller

Every once in a while the game will freeze. Today, just before it froze, the controller stopped working (only movement, the boost was working), first time that it happens (normally it would just freeze). When it freezes I cannot bring up the task manager. With event viewer, windows doesn't report any error regarding rocketleague.exe.

These crashes have happened since months...and it is the only game that has problems on my computer. So they happened with many different driver releases, and also on the older graphic card (980ti). I know that many people get this problem so maybe if someone fixed it, we can share the solution.....although we all know that for this kind of problem there can be 1000 different solutions. I really think developers should investigate on it. In my case when the game freezes I must force shutdown the pc (with the hardware button). I haven't tried waiting long (like a whole minute) to see if windows would force kill the process....right now I am verifying the game cache files with steam but I know that this is 99% of the times completely useless.

and also, it would not be such a big problem for me, if it weren't that the game, when you shutdown the pc, counts the game as a loss and I get a 15 minutes ban.....not my fault the game freezes -_-

Yep i get that problem too, game started freezing since one month from nowhere.
This is very frustating, i have no solution for you mate, i'm just letting you know you're not alone, some people posted about this problem thourough the year, it's very random and nobody really know the cause and nobody have a real solution :C

Have you tried anything to fix it?

Verified the cache, modified anti virus settings the next step is to reinstall the game i guess but i don't think that will work :|

It's always worth a try.

Otherwise, I'd try a clean install of new GPU drivers, and I'd check event viewer > windows logs > application
Then in there, search for 'rocketleague' and see if there are error logs with an exception code and a faulting module path

Roger, i'll try all of this. Thank you!

I played the game in the past months with many different driver releases (so many driver releases were giving me a blue screen problem when switching to the second screen on my multimonitor setup, another problem that many people have and nobody knows the solution but not related to rocket league). Despite many different driver releases, rocket league was randomly freezing anyway with both old card and new card. It is not often but when it happens it is very annoying (also because I only play ranked matches and that gives me a disadvantage). Maybe it happens every 20 hours of gameplay or so, in average (sometimes after only 2 hours for instance).

Event viewer never showed any error about rocket league. I verified the game cache, didn't find any errors. Will post again when rocket league freezes again.

I got the exact same problem. Same PC Setup. Just happened a hour ago. I am reinstalling Rocket League now. Seems to be a problem with GTX 1070 drivers maybe.

After a reinstall of the game, the freezes stopped! I played six games in a row without any problem, before reinstalling my game was freezing at least 4 times per game. Hope it'll fix the problem for you too

I did reinstall the game and seems to work. Still dont know what caused the issue, because the freeze just started today. I never had any problem with RL. I will let you know if the issue returns within a week.

I don't know too, one day the game started freezing. Well hope it won't happen again !

I am not sure how the game behaves with SLI setups....so can't speak about that. BUT I think checking the game cache (through the steam library, assuming you know what I mean) actually helps....don't ask me why, maybe it was just a coincidence. IT is definitely some bug, maybe something to do with the network, but I can't say I am 100% sure it never happened in training offline either (can't remember), so.....just check the cache regularly and maybe try to change drive where the game is installed.

Great, now my game keeps freezing. But, the freezing I am experiencing may be different than your freezing. Mine freezes every 2 seconds, and the freezing never stops until you close the game. Also, when the game freezes, it lasts for a good 10 seconds. I've tried reinstalling the game > didn't work. So, does anyone else have any suggestions?
