Replay boost bug
Issue - https://imgur.com/AjvQg5Y

I recently starting dabbling around in video editing and am trying to capture some footage from replays. The problem is that after I play through the footage a single time and begin to scrub back through for different shots and angles player boost begins to "hang" and will not go away, even when closing the game out and reloading the same replay. The only way to make it go away temporarily is to exit the replay, load a different replay, and then reload the replay again. Although if I don't get the capture quite right the first time through I have to rinse and repeat the process.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling all mods (Bakkes & Reshade), the game itself. to no avail. No adjustment of the ingame settings seems to fix this issue either. Issues persist when no Reshade shaders are applied. Deleting the game Cache also does not fix this issue.

I tried searching around and didn't find anyone else who had this issue. Any ideas? I'm all out!

Sorry, no idea how to fix or why is it happening.
Try submit ticket to game support as Bug reporting :
https://support.rocketleague.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015694413-I-Want-to-Report-a-Bug-or-Glitch

Basically copying your post from here should be enough. At the best try record video when it's happening.

Bump - No updates, no solution. Tried a different GPU - RX580, no fix. Clean install of windows, no fix, turn off steam cloud support with clean install, no fix. I'm really running out of ideas here. I cannot figure out why this is happening!!
quickER 🛠 Jun 13, 2020 @ 5:18pm
I'm not sure if you already tried it but can it be caused by Bakkes mod, did you try to disable or uninstalling it?

Did you see at least automatic response from PsyBot in ticket?

Edit: Last option I can think is to delete (do backup just in case) Rocket League folder from Documents-My games-Rocket League

Upon the clean windows install I ran the game first thing after all the drivers were installed, without installing Reshade or Bakkes and the issue remained :(

I've also deleted that folder as well, the issue still remained. I appreciate the efforts.

Yes I saw the auto-response 5 days ago with no updates from them.

This is a follow-up to your previous request #426225 "Replay Boost Bug - Boost hanging in replays"

Hi Quatavia, I tried the fix and ultimately it did not help with my issues.

Sorry for the long delays, I suspected that maybe the issue was occurring due to high local disk temps ~80 deg C. I spent the last few weeks adding fans and cooling down the system. The local disk now sits comfortably between 30-45 deg c and the issue persists.

Thank you for the help!

Hey Jordan,

Thank you for being a part of the Rocket League community!

I understand you are experiencing a performance issue. I am happy to help and get you on the fields.

I recommend renaming the Rocket League folder. In order for this to work, disable Steam Cloud Sync for Rocket League, as well as any other cloud services on your PC. This prevents Steam from copying a corrupted version of the folder back into the game files.

To disable Cloud Sync in Steam please follow these steps:

1. Right-click on Rocket League in the Steam Library
2. Select Properties
3. Click on the Updates tab
4. Uncheck Enable Steam Cloud Synchronization For Rocket League
5. Click the Close button

Next, Rename the Rocket League folder:

1. Click on the Folder Icon in the lower-left corner of the screen
This will open File Explorer
2. Click on Documents in the left-hand column
3. Double click on My Games
4. Right-click on Rocket League
5. Select Rename
6. Type Rocket League Old
7. Tap the Enter Key on your keyboard
8. Try starting Rocket League again

I also recommend disabling the Windows Game Bar and DVR by following these steps:

1. Open Settings and go to Gaming.
2. Click on Game Bar and turn off the option to use Game Bar.
3. Click on DVR and do the same thing.

I also suggest disabling the Steam overlay. Steam has a global setting that will enable or disable the Steam overlay:

Open the Steam client and navigate to the Steam > Settings/Preferences > In-game tab. Check the box next to disable the Steam Overlay while in-game.

Additionally, each Steam game has its own setting for the overlay's functionality:

Right-click the game in your Library > Select Properties > Under the General tab, check the box next to disable the Steam Overlay while in-game.

Let me know how this works out for you. If you need any help along the way please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

See you on the fields soon!

Hi Quatavia,

I did all of the above items and the issue still persists.

What's next?

Thanks,
Jordan

They still haven't fixed it. :cozyspaceengineersa:

I know man, there's a fix to basically never skip forward or backwards without playing the replay for a split second. seems like if you just always play the video between skipping forwards and backwards the boost bug doesnt show up. kinda pain in the ass but it works I guess :/
