Same here...since the update I cannot even hear my cars engine..it is there but very muted and very quiet.

Yep same here it's waaay to quiet compared to how it used to be. I can't seem to get used to it either, I'm one of those people who really need aural feedback when playing games and not being able to hear my own engine makes me feel like I'm partially deaf or something. It just bugs me and actually influences my ability to play.

already fixed that i was using headset and i set my sound option to 7.1 channel that caused the problem

Confirm here, in Linux som cars does not have sounds even when selectim them. Endo for example is empty, Dominus GT2 empty audio also. Default 'None' option also empty sound / no sound. So i drive endo with some generic-no-chest-hair-growing 'meooww' -sound.

Please fix this too.

Takumi default sound also missing and the Centio 17 audio missing too. In windows all sounds works as expected.

I looked .local/share/steam......./rocketleague/ configs, no audio defined there so these must be hard coded somewhere else.

Anyone else in Linux having this too?

Most of the time, this issue can be resolved by disabling surround sound (7.1 or 5.1 surround) in your system sounds. When you've got that enabled, engine sounds play through one of the auxiliary speakers and will not come through on headphones/stereo speaker setups.

I'm having a similar situation, could you tell me what you set it to after finding out that It was set to 7.1. I'm also having other weird missing engine sounds in war thunder and in war frame if I'm looking at a character while their talking it's very quiet but if I turn to the side then they sound loud and clear

i can't really remember and can't even remember how to check that , just keep chaning it from your sound driver option not in game option till you find the solution
