How to get out of Platinum?
Alright, I’m hardstuck Plat and it’s driving me nuts. I know it takes time, but after got to Platinum, I`m not seeing big improvements.

I’ve thought about paying for coaching, but idk… seems expensive and kinda awkward? Has anyone actually had a good experience with it?

And don’t just tell me to ‘play more’—I want real advice. Do I just grind free play for hours? Watch my own replays and cringe at my whiffs? Any YouTubers or streamers who actually explain things in a way that makes sense?

Seriously, what worked for you guys? Or better yet—what totally didn’t? Drop your best (or worst) tips below.

P.S. I’m digging deeper into this topic and made a short survey — trying to get more data around how players improve. If I get enough responses, I’ll share the results back here too. Would mean a lot if you could fill it out:

Don't pay for coaching at plat. That's the kind of thing you can start doing when you're trying to break into GC or SSL. Anything below that you just need to grind fundamentals.

Best thing you can do is find someone much better than you to go over a replay with you in voice and point out all your mistakes and ways to correct them.

Replay analysis with a better player is the best way to learn. You don't need to pay a coach as there's hundreds of people who will do it free. Do it with more than one person too. They will all tell you mostly the same stuff, but also conflicting stuff. Figure out yourself which stuff applies to you more.

Additionally, find a dedicated buddy you can play with who is your same skill and is also wanting to improve. This just helps keep the salt levels down so you can focus on your mistakes and fixing them. It's just a little harder in solo queue if your teammates are radically different playstyles each time.

I personally don't think this is a good idea. Watching someone do double taps and flip reset as a plat won't help you do it since as plat, they won't have the same car control. A player slightly better would be good, but much better is not worth it.

That isn't what I was suggesting. The idea is to have the much better player watch the other player's replay. More specifically, a replay where the player lost a game and felt they couldn't do anything better to change the outcome.

The better player is obviously not going to tell a plat to learn air dribbles/flip resets. They will tell the plat to work on fundamentals like positioning, learning how to read your opponent/teammates, hitting the ball with power, hitting the ball with intent, and concepts like shadowing or faking.
pay a smurf for 2 hours hel probaly get you higher than plat
For me the following helped:

- Mute chat (for me it felt like the toxicity shrinks at champion ranks)
- Since there is a lot of chasing, play a more passive role (take open spaces, positioning, avoid player clusters)
- I you cannot reach the ball before your opponent, do not go for it. Try to anticipate the ball (go for defense or open space, where the ball might go)
- Save your boost and "explode" when you need it. Prevents you from running out of boost in difficult situations

I hope this helps at least a little. Keep on brother! I know, it might get frustrating sometimes. But in the end, the best improvements I had where when I tried to correct my mistakes and behaviour.

And never forget to take a break sometimes :)
