2v2 and Full Party 3v3 can have any ranks.
Only thing with previous udpate changed was limit to play Ranked - each player (in Party too) need to have at least XP Level 20.
Boosting is a thing again and you can see that by noticeable amount of unskilled people starting from diam/champ and all the way above.
Even when i not think that it brings much i always report such player teams ala "farms XP" cus it gives no real report option ala "MM abuse". Still impressed that the devs not changed anything and just implemtened a useless "level gate increase" that can be reached within a day.
Would make much more sense if MM system matches teams with lower players and higher players so that the lower players are draged into the higher ranks cus i guess that it would solve a lot of those teams who take lower ranked with them just to have some easy play rounds and then even feel proud about it when they could brag with their skills cus they may not be able to achieve anything in their respective rank.
They're up to something and I don't think it's all down to the players but it does feel like that.
There's defo something different. The pattern for 3's seems to be - normal match with everybody ROUGHLY the same MMR then a match against a party with at least one player that's a full rank (sometimes two) bellow the rest of the lobby.
Don't get me wrong, I've dropped the last couple seasons from bordering champ to low D but c'mon, something weird is going on. Played enough hours to notice the difference and now my W/L ratio (that was sitting at 60ish for a year) is pushing HARD for 50%. The motivation to progress has pretty much gone at this point - next it'll be the desire to play at all.
The way it's been going the past couple seasons it feels dirty, nothing feels fair it the MM system. Feels similar to playing a low win percentage fruit machine IMO
Go to EU, almost every 2nd match is against a smurf that is boosting (on D1).
You can be Diamond 1, Division 4, and you meet plat2 that play like gc and champ, carrying their teammates.
You need to add this as a possible report (for smurfing). I just report it as "cheating".
It became a plague, and it started affecting the tournaments.
Leveling up the minimum requirement to lvl 20 and above only solved the issues for couple of days, before it got way, way worse, once more.
Just go there and see for yourself, smurfing became such a big issue...
There's report option "Match throwing or griefing" which includes Smurfing too - https://www.epicgames.com/help/en-US/c-Category_RocketLeague/c-RocketLeague_Gameplay/how-do-i-report-a-player-in-rocket-league-a000084562
Cheating is incorrect report option and main intention of this option is to report player you suspect of using bot (AI) in ranked matches.
Seems to me that the devs skirt around the issue, I mean, is it in their interest to stop players creating new accounts or hinder higher ranked players from getting their mates invested in the game. Probably not would by my guess
While I never encounter smurfs, I endlessly encounter people which got boosted way over their head.
Funniest are people flashing gc titles from old seasons and being unable to hit easiest ball, selling accounts with those is ongoing thing too.
