Why Champ lobbies are full of gcs?
I play this game since the beginning. Since then I've never hit Grand Champ. I've been in champ for the past 5-6 seasons. Call me a bad player, I know that already. But my question is, why are champ lobbies are full of gcs? Like brother you peaked gc once and that's it? Don't get me wrong it would be okay for me, if I'm at high c3 maybe and then playing with yall, but the things I can do is not enough in these lobbies. Any thoughts on this?

no one cares. as shouldn't you.
Because, the playerbase is shrinking in size while the skill level to reach said skill level is increasing.
Thus, you get Grand Champs that are slowly pushed out of Grand Champ into Champ.

They are more or less the same skill level as you. It's just much harder to reach GC these days.

While I agree with what you've pointed out, that's not the main and only reason. There is more to it than just "it's harder than before to get GC". Several other factors are impacting the current match making, the most notable ones being players taking a break, not playing for 1 or more seasons (getting lower in ranked because of soft resets) and those who usually play only in 1 specific game mode and just occasionally to the other ones, thus not being at their "true level" (basically, someone playing only 2s and being GC, occasionally tagging in 3s and never going higher than low champ because they never try hard in this game mode).

This is basically what their latest changes to improve match making are about (the latest news about it makes it even clearer).
It's a problem that most ranks have, but it's most prominent in diamond through champ (from what I've seen).
Another reason is I'm high C3-GC (got my GC titles lots of seasons) in 2s and only C1 and rarely C2 in 3s. I'm playing with my low elo friends in 3s.
new season was brutal on placements. 1st season in years that i wasn't able to solo q win games. Normally i sit c2/c3. finished my placements c1d2. had to team up with a buddy to climb. teammates are serious 4heads this season.
Basically the average skill of a playerbase tends to go up over time, especially once a game stop growing. At that point you will actively drop in rank if you maintain your current skill level without improving. You can even be improving and dropping rank if you rate of improvement is just slower then others at your skill level. Now if you take a break and come back you might even have lost some level of skill. Add onto that small soft resets every season meaning that players who don't grind back to where they were will end up lower and lower (this is somewhat needed due to mmr inflation issues that come from players entering or leaving the playerbase).

Basically it's to be expected that GCs who aren't actively improving at a decent rate will eventually fall to champ. It only ever gets harder and harder to reach high ranks over time and being able to reach GC in Season X doesn't mean you'll be good enough to reach GC in Season X+2 or X+3, etc.

You can be playing your best, but have an unlucky day losing all your matches down 3-4+ ranks. At that point it is difficult to get back where you should be without having a friend or two helping out.

That is most untrue statement I could read lmao.
Most people flashing their gc titles are people which bought accounts or boosting, thus they are gradually falling down where their place is.
just select casual not ranked

is what i do and i consider myself rare metal :D

it's mathematically true though.
RL peaked long ago, there is near to none noob "fresh blood" joining.
like the first guy who posted said it best: you shouldn't care. even before f2p if you endeavored to become more than gc, you noticed the disparity in skill of your teammates vs a full team of ssl.

just play this for whenever you don't want to exert your brain.

The "fresh bloods" wouldn't have even made it to C3 let alone GC. IDK what you're talking about.
