Can´t play the game - epic games login forced

i can not start the game..
It opens a web browser with an epic login i dont want to fill out.

Epic bought the studio/game back in 2019

I have been able to play it normally since then.

As far as I know, my steam account was then assigned to an automatically generated epic account with which I was logged in. Since I did not create this account, I do not have any login data for it. How am I supposed to log in according to the epic website? Because my Steam account has apparently already been linked to it

I also have no idea why this is supposed to be a joke and why such behavior by a company is still being defended and the paying customer is supposed to be the guilty idiot

could ask Valve for a refund since they've changed the requirements. When they dropped supporting the linux client Valve issued refunds for players who played it on Linux. You will get auto denied by the regular system but you can submit a ticket after and explain the issue clearly and you might get one.

I know that doesn't do anything for being able to play the game and Epic is a ♥♥♥♥ hole for taking it off Steam in the first place trying to prop up their ♥♥♥♥ store that no one wants to use.

Also, I didn't mention this as your OP seemed to indicate that you had no intention of filling out / creating a full Epic account; however, your subsequent post (that I missed previously) seems to indicate that you were also trying to login to said "fake account" (nameless). Based on the several similar posts in these discussions regarding users who created a nameless account previously (a few years ago when epic made that mandatory when they moved the game to EOS and gutted all of the Steamworks portions); it seems like they've removed or broken the nameless accounts last week just prior to the new seasons update.

You should be able to "promote" your nameless account to a full Epic account

• Go to the Epic Games website[www.epicgames.com].
  
• Select the option to Sign in with your Steam account and sign in with your Steam credentials (or use the mobile QR code login)
  
• Fill in the remainder of the account details when prompted

(this is essentially what it's trying to force you to do when you launch the game and it opens the browser to the Epic Games Login via Steam[www.epicgames.com] page)
