Don't know where you got that info. Games run better on Epic because Epic isn't bloated with overlays or features. You can find plenty of posts here in the discussions of people claiming that Epic makes the Steam version run worse. Actuality it's just Steam being bloated.
Also, no. Not sharing my Steam library with anyone I am not close friends/family with.
The game originally was linux native. But when epic started to be interested in the game the native linux version was dropped. And not because of anticheat. As the game has no anticheat.
I guess it's the same on windows as well. Epic version feels less optimized because it has the Epic launcher running in the background, which is a real performance killer. As it's full of ads constantly running and tracking plus data collection. It's processing more data out of your pc than to your pc. (probably what pays the free games they offer, the sale of personal data)
Family sharing is a sketchy thing to be doing with randoms. So you are indeed not doing your self a favor in looking like a trustworthy person by asking this way.
But i gave you the answers you were searching for. The game is the same. But the launchers are different. Epic games launcher is more demanding on your PC than the steam launcher. So naturally your games will run with less performance. It's not that the versions of the games are different. It's the launchers.
You can say whatever you want but that's the truth, Epic is garbage and if I ever reinstall the game I'll have to do the trash tutorial even tho I am level 100, besides, on the Steam version there's no tutorial.
I can share my library with you, just add me.
Sure buddy.
Let's go over the things from the past 9-10 years that have causes issues and lag for Rocket League when using Steam.
Steam Input/Controller Configuration - Enabled by default, causes input lag and usually compared to the "heavy car" bug.
Steams friends list - Causes hitching/FPS spikes if your friends list is big enough. This was patched years ago, but can still happen if your friends list is large enough.
Steam overlay - Just having it enabled can cause lower FPS, since it uses up more resources. Just turn it off unless you really need to buy credits.
Steam also has background recording now. Which can cause lower FPS/hitching.
Steam is definitely preferred over Epic. But it's really silly to claim Steam is "better" when it comes to performance.
Also, that is an issue on your side if you have to do the tutorial on the Epic version. Literally installed Epic just to test this and I go straight to the Main menu when the game is opened. Also there is a tutorial on Steam if your config files get corrupted or you lose them. Plenty of posts on these discussions of people getting stuck in the tutorially every time they launch the game on Steam.
Now I am going to have to find and remove ever trace Epic games off my PC again.
Both the Mac and Linux versions were removed because with both of them combined they equaled 0.3% of the player base, that is less than 1%, and because the developers wanted to update the game to be DX11 it was not worth the money and effort to support only 0.3% of the player base.
EGS uses less resources than Steam does. It uses less CPU and memory, and it even minimizes itself when playing a game using significantly less resources than Steam does. EGS has zero affect on performance.
Also the only "ads" that EGS has is notifications if you have notifcations turned on. You'll get notifications if a game goes on sale that you wishlisted. But like I said, you can turn off those notifications if you do not want them.
Epic's client data collection is no different than Steam's data collection, also neither Epic or Valve sells customer data to anyone.
